Which Galaxy Z model fits your use?
The main decision is between a book-style foldable, which opens into a larger screen, and a clamshell, which folds into a more compact shape. Within the book-style models, Samsung positions the Ultra around camera capability and productivity, while the Fold8 emphasizes a lighter device for viewing and everyday content use.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: large workspace and camera flexibility
The Fold8 Ultra is the premium book-style option in this lineup. Samsung lists an 8-inch main display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, a 200 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. It has a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 45 W fast charging; its listed weight is 215 g. Those specifications make it the model to consider if you want the larger-screen format alongside the most camera flexibility of the three. They are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance or camera-test results. Samsung’s Series 8 announcement.
Galaxy Z Fold8: lighter book-style option for viewing
Samsung lists the Fold8 at 201 g, with a 4:3 unfolded main display and dual 50 MP wide and ultra-wide cameras. Its battery capacity is 4,800 mAh, and Samsung claims up to 26 hours of video playback; that duration is a manufacturer claim, not an independently measured result. Samsung positions it for reading, browsing and watching content. Its official FAQ says it does not support S Pen or FlexMode, so do not choose it expecting either feature. Galaxy Z Flip8: pocketable clamshell
The Flip8 is the compact clamshell choice. Samsung lists it at 180 g and 6.1 mm thick when open, and highlights its FlexWindow cover screen, hands-free photography features and 50 MP camera. Its folded form and cover-screen interaction are the relevant distinctions if you value a phone that takes up less space when closed. Galaxy Z Flip8 product page.

Quick Recap
Check price, configuration and case compatibility before buying
- Match the listing to the exact model, RAM and storage tier in the table; higher storage configurations have higher published launch prices.
- Confirm the final checkout total, seller, stock, exchange valuation and any bank offer. The available Samsung announcements do not establish live prices for every configuration across retailers on 4 October 2026.
- Samsung’s launch announcement names online-exclusive colors, but color and offer availability can vary by channel and date. Check the selected color and configuration on the seller’s listing.
- If buying a Fold8 case, verify that it is specifically compatible with Galaxy Z Fold8. Samsung lists Carbon Magnet Case, Carbon Standing Case and Silicone Magnet Case options for that model; a case made for another foldable may not fit. Samsung’s Fold8 accessories page.
