Galaxy Z Fold8: a small outer screen and a large inner canvas
Samsung lists a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch inner display, both part of a book-style foldable design. The cover screen supports phone use without opening the device; unfolding it gives you a larger surface for reading, video and multitasking. That versatility is the Fold8’s defining distinction, but it also means choosing a folding design rather than a single-screen handset.
Edge 70 Fusion: one screen in a standard phone
The Edge 70 Fusion’s 6.78-inch display is part of a conventional phone body. If you prefer a familiar slab design and do not need a screen that unfolds, it is the more direct fit. The diagonal measurements alone do not describe the whole experience: the Fold8’s inner screen is available when opened, while the Edge’s display is always part of the phone’s single-screen form.

Price difference: compare within the same country
There is no reliable single worldwide price difference to quote. Samsung’s published prices and Motorola’s reported prices refer to different regions, configurations and sources. For example, Samsung India displayed ₹174,999 for the Fold8 with 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM, while the cited Motorola India search-result figure could not be verified from the page. It would be misleading to subtract those values and present the result as a confirmed current saving.

Performance and storage
The reviewed Edge 70 Fusion configuration uses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Samsung lists a Fold8 configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage, alongside higher-storage configurations; the cited pricing report includes a 1 TB / 16 GB version. These configurations help identify what is being priced, but specs alone do not establish which phone performs faster in a particular app or workload. No comparable benchmark results are established in the cited material.

Battery and charging
Samsung specifies a 4,800 mAh battery and 45 W charging for the Fold8. Tom’s Guide reports 12 hours and 19 minutes in its own web-surfing battery test; that is a result from its particular test, not a guaranteed runtime for every user. The cited sources do not establish an equivalent Edge 70 Fusion battery test, so they do not support a reliable claim about which phone lasts longer.

Rear cameras
Tom’s Guide notes that the Fold8 does not have a dedicated telephoto rear camera. If optical reach is a priority, check the exact camera hardware and independent sample comparisons for the specific models sold in your market; the cited material does not establish a complete, comparable camera assessment of both phones.

Samsung says the Fold8 was unveiled after Galaxy Unpacked on July 22, 2026, and is available through Samsung.com. Samsung Australia lists Lavender, Graphite and Cream, with Pistachio as an online exclusive in select regions; colour choices can therefore depend on market. Tom’s Guide reports an August 7 availability date. TechRadar reports the Edge 70 Fusion’s announcement on March 2, 2026, and says it is not sold in the US, so availability is market-specific.

Samsung India says the Fold8 box contains the phone, a data cable and an ejection pin, but not a travel adapter. Check the local box contents and charging requirements for the version sold in your region before buying an adapter.
