Fold or Flip: what changes in everyday use?
The Fold8 opens like a book into a larger, tablet-like display. Its 7.6-inch main screen gives you more room for reading, media, creative apps, and using multiple apps at once. The 5.5-inch cover display handles use while the phone is closed.
The Flip8 folds a full-size smartphone in half. Its 6.9-inch main screen is for regular phone use when open; when folded, its 4.1-inch cover screen supports selected tasks such as checking messages, using widgets, and taking photos. Samsung promotes FlexMode for positioning the phone hands-free, including for photos and video.

Choose Fold8 for space to work and read
The Fold8’s 7.6-inch inner display is the main reason to choose it. It is the better fit if you expect to open your phone often for longer reading sessions, media, creative apps, or working across apps at the same time. If you would mostly use it closed like a standard phone, you may not get as much value from the larger screen.

Choose Flip8 for compactness
The Flip8 closes down into a smaller shape, while its outer FlexWindow offers selected functions without opening the phone. Samsung lists it at 180 g, compared with 201 g for the Fold8. Choose it if the compact folded form matters more to you than having a tablet-like inner screen.
How do the cameras and special features differ?
Samsung lists the Fold8 with 50 MP wide and 50 MP ultra-wide rear cameras, plus 10 MP cameras for the cover and main screens. For the Flip8, Samsung highlights a 50 MP camera and FlexCam: FlexMode lets the phone stand at an angle for hands-free shooting, with the cover screen available to frame shots using the rear camera. These descriptions do not establish which phone takes better photos or video.

The base Fold8 does not support S Pen or FlexMode, according to Samsung. That matters if you were considering the Fold for pen-based note-taking or expecting it to offer the Flip’s stand-like shooting setup. Check Samsung’s Fold8 product details for the base model’s support information.
Which one has better battery life?
Samsung lists typical battery capacities of 4,800 mAh for Fold8 and 4,300 mAh for Flip8. It claims up to 26 hours of video playback for the Fold8 and up to 31 hours for the Flip8. Those are manufacturer figures, not results from an independent, controlled head-to-head test or a guarantee of everyday runtime. They do not, by themselves, establish which phone will last longer for your mix of tasks.
