The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and vivo S2—called “vivo S2 5G” on the comparison page—are built for different needs. Samsung is a foldable that opens to an 8-inch-class workspace with a more versatile rear-camera setup; vivo is a conventional curved-screen phone with a much larger stated battery capacity and a far lower price in one India-market snapshot. Neither is a universal winner: the right choice depends first on whether you want a foldable, and then on your budget, local model and current availability.

These specifications come from sources for different markets: Samsung’s detailed specification page is for Korea, while vivo’s product information is for India. They should not be taken as a guarantee that every country sells the same configuration, network bands, colors or bundled offers.

Choose the Fold8 Ultra for a foldable workspace
Samsung’s 203.1 mm main display unfolds into a broad 2504 × 2256 workspace, while the 164.8 mm cover display provides a separate screen when the phone is closed. That makes the Fold8 Ultra the more relevant option if you expect to read, view media or work on a larger screen and are willing to carry a foldable. Its dimensions change substantially depending on whether it is open or folded.

Choose the vivo S2 for a conventional curved-screen phone
The vivo S2 is a single-screen smartphone with a 17.35 cm curved display. It does not offer the Fold8 Ultra’s larger unfolded surface, but it avoids the foldable form factor. If you want a standard phone rather than an expandable workspace, the difference in design matters more than a comparison of screen measurements alone.

Camera hardware: more rear-camera options on Samsung
Samsung lists three rear cameras—200 MP, 50 MP and 10 MP—and specifies 3× optical zoom plus digital zoom up to 30×. vivo advertises a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera and a 2 MP bokeh camera. On the front, Samsung lists 10 MP cameras on both the main and cover displays; vivo lists a 32 MP selfie camera.
The camera configurations show that Samsung offers more rear-camera modules and explicitly lists optical zoom. They do not, by themselves, establish which phone takes better photos or video. Megapixel counts are not a substitute for comparable image-quality tests, and no such test results are established here.

Battery capacity and reported battery test
Samsung specifies a typical 5,000 mAh battery; vivo lists 7050 mAh for the India-market S2. These are capacity figures, not promises of screen-on time. Actual runtime varies with usage, settings, network conditions and other factors.

India price snapshot: a large gap, but not a live quote
In a 91mobiles comparison page accessed in 2026, the Samsung was displayed at ₹194,999 and marked out of stock; the vivo was displayed at ₹39,990 with an Amazon reference. Subtracting those two displayed values gives a difference of ₹155,009. This is an India-market snapshot, not a current universal price or assurance either listing can be purchased at that amount. Check the seller, stock and exact variant before relying on it.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if an 8-inch-class unfolded display, a foldable design and the more extensive listed rear-camera system suit your priorities and budget.
- Consider the vivo S2 if you prefer a conventional curved-screen phone, value its larger stated battery capacity, and the lower India price shown in the snapshot reflects your market and available listing.
- Do not decide from battery capacity or camera megapixels alone. Those numbers do not establish real-world endurance or image quality.
Check before buying
- Confirm the exact model name and local market variant; the comparison calls the vivo “S2 5G,” while vivo’s India page identifies it as vivo S2.
- Verify RAM, storage and network bands for the precise SKU you are considering.
- Check current stock, seller, price, warranty and included offers in your country. The cited Samsung specification page is for Korea; the vivo product page and price snapshot are India-specific.
