The Galaxy Z Fold6 is the pick if you want a phone that opens into a 7.6-inch workspace; the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the better fit for a conventional flagship with an integrated S Pen and a 200MP main camera. Samsung’s March 2025 US price list put the 256GB Fold6 $600 above the 256GB S25 Ultra, but that historical MSRP gap does not establish what either phone costs today.

At a glance: Galaxy Z Fold6 vs. Galaxy S25 Ultra

Feature Galaxy Z Fold6 Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung publishes these specifications; they are not results from a controlled comparison test. The S25 Ultra’s newer-named processor and higher main-camera megapixel count do not, by themselves, establish a measured performance or photo-quality winner.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the Galaxy Z Fold6 for an unfolding workspace

The Fold6’s defining advantage is its 7.6-inch inner display, alongside a 6.3-inch cover display for using the phone while folded. The larger open screen can suit reading, working across apps, or viewing content on a tablet-like surface. It remains a phone-sized device when closed, but its book-style shape is a meaningful change from a standard slab.

Choose the Galaxy S25 Ultra for a conventional flagship

The S25 Ultra keeps the familiar one-piece phone design and offers a 6.9-inch-class display. Its S Pen is built in, so it is the simpler choice if you want a stylus always carried with the phone. Samsung also highlights its 200MP main camera, while the Fold6 uses a three-camera rear system with different resolutions.

Displays, stylus, cameras, and battery

Displays and stylus

Samsung describes both Fold6 displays as 120Hz. The S25 Ultra’s single 6.9-inch-class screen is large, but it does not open into a second display. The Fold6 supports the S Pen Fold Edition; do not assume the stylus is included, since bundle contents can vary by region and offer.

Camera hardware

The Fold6’s rear cameras are a 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto. Samsung promotes a 200MP wide camera on the S25 Ultra. Those specifications describe hardware, not a head-to-head image-quality result: megapixel count alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos.

Battery and processor

Samsung lists 4,400mAh for the Fold6 and 5,000mAh for the S25 Ultra. Capacity is not the same as runtime, so those figures do not guarantee how long either phone will last between charges. The Fold6 uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the S25 Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. The cited manufacturer specifications do not provide controlled comparative benchmark results.

Durability note for the Fold6

The Fold6 has an IP48 rating. Samsung US Support explains that IP48 means the device resists solid particles larger than 1 mm and has been tested for submersion in up to 5 feet of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. That is Samsung’s stated test description, not a guarantee against every exposure or type of damage.
