Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in South Korea on October 21, 2024, with sales scheduled to begin there on October 25. The assignment title’s “Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition” is shorthand; Samsung’s Korea announcement calls the device the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Samsung described a thinner, lighter foldable with an 8.0-inch inner display, a 200MP wide camera and 16GB of memory. Those are launch-announcement details, not a current price or confirmation of present-day availability.
What is the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition?
It is a Samsung foldable smartphone announced for the South Korean market in October 2024. Samsung’s official product name in its Korea Newsroom announcement is Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, not “Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition.” Samsung positioned it as a slimmer, lighter device with upgraded hardware compared with the Galaxy Z Fold6.
Samsung attributed the launch to appreciation for Korean consumers who had helped lead the foldable market. Im Seong-taek, vice president of Samsung Electronics’ Korea business, said the product offered a slim and light foldable experience and a refined pattern and depth of color. These are Samsung’s launch descriptions, not independent design or durability findings.
