The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and iQOO 15R suit different priorities: the Fold8 opens into a larger 7.6-inch workspace, while the iQOO 15R is a conventional phone with a 1.5K 144Hz display, a 7,600mAh battery and 100W charging. The published prices are from different countries, so they do not establish a like-for-like price difference.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent comparative test results. Samsung lists typical and rated battery capacities separately; the figures above preserve that distinction. Which phone is better for your needs?
Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 for a foldable workspace
The Fold8’s defining difference is its form factor: it offers a 5.5-inch cover display for use while closed and a 7.6-inch main screen when opened. That larger unfolded surface is the more relevant choice if you specifically want a foldable phone and value a larger display area. It is not simply a conventional handset with a different chipset.
Choose the iQOO 15R for a conventional phone with a large stated battery
The iQOO 15R keeps the familiar single-screen phone design. Its official highlights include a 1.5K 144Hz AMOLED panel, a 7,600mAh typical-capacity battery and 100W FlashCharge. Those published figures may appeal if a high-refresh-rate slab phone and fast charging are priorities, but capacity and charging specifications alone do not show how long it lasts in comparable everyday use.

What is the price difference?
A direct price difference cannot be calculated from the available figures because they refer to different markets and do not establish a same-country, same-date comparison. Samsung’s U.S. product page lists the Galaxy Z Fold8 from $1,899.99 before trade-in. iQOO’s India launch announcement listed the 15R at ₹40,999 for 8GB+256GB, ₹43,999 for 12GB+256GB and ₹48,999 for 12GB+512GB. These are India launch prices from 2026, not confirmed current offers. Check the relevant local retailer for today’s price, stock and exact configuration before buying.
Which phone has better battery life?
The iQOO 15R has the larger published capacity: 7,600mAh typical versus 4,800mAh typical for the Fold8. This does not establish which phone lasts longer. Battery life depends on more than capacity, including display use, software and workload, and the sources cited here do not provide an independent matched endurance test. Treat 100W FlashCharge as an iQOO specification, not proof of a particular real-world charging time.

Is the iQOO 15R better for gaming?
Both phones use Snapdragon platforms, but their names alone do not establish a gaming-performance winner: Samsung lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, while iQOO lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. No independent matched gaming benchmark is established here. The iQOO’s 144Hz display and its listed LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage are relevant specifications, but they are not substitutes for comparable frame-rate, sustained-performance and thermal testing. If gaming performance is decisive, look for tests using the same games, settings and measurement conditions.

Which has the better camera?
A camera winner is not supported by the specifications available here. iQOO identifies a 50MP Sony LYT-700V OIS main camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera and a 32MP selfie camera. The cited Samsung launch material does not establish a complete comparable camera specification, and there are no matched camera samples or independent tests in the sources cited. Megapixel counts and stabilization labels alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos or video.

Software support and durability details
iQOO lists four Android version upgrades and six years of security updates for the 15R. A comparable Fold8 support duration is not established by the cited Samsung source, so the figures do not support a claim that one will receive longer support than the other.
iQOO lists IP68/IP69 ratings for the 15R. These are tested ratings, not a promise of permanent water resistance: iQOO says resistance can decrease through daily use and liquid damage is not covered by warranty. Review the manufacturer’s regional terms for the conditions that apply to your device.

Samsung announced general availability for the Galaxy Z Fold8 from August 7, 2026. iQOO said sales of the 15R in India began March 3, 2026, through Amazon.in, its e-store, selected vivo exclusive stores, Reliance Digital and other retail stores. Availability and current prices vary by country and retailer; those India sales channels do not establish availability elsewhere.
