Yes—the Galaxy Z Flip6 launched with 12GB of memory. Samsung confirmed that specification on July 10, 2024, alongside 256GB and 512GB storage options. The pre-launch leak is now historical; Samsung’s announcement, rather than the leak, is the definitive source for the phone’s specifications.
Did the Galaxy Z Flip6 leak get the RAM right?
Samsung’s July 10, 2024 launch announcement lists 12GB of memory for the Galaxy Z Flip6. It pairs that memory with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, although which storage options are sold can vary by market and retailer. Samsung does not list a microSD card slot in the cited specification table, so do not count on expanding storage with a card.
The leak story was less conclusive than its headline might suggest: SamMobile’s pre-launch report said the leaked specification sheet did not state the RAM amount, and it discussed an earlier leak suggesting an 8GB configuration. The announced 12GB configuration confirms the final product’s memory, not every earlier rumor. Samsung’s launch announcement is the primary source for the confirmed figures.

#1 Best Overall
- Offers a 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X folding main display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, giving you fluid visuals for media, gaming, and multitasking while still folding into a compact, stylish form.
What the displays, cameras and battery mean
Two screens for different tasks
The 6.7-inch inner display is the main screen for apps and media. The 3.4-inch outer cover display is smaller and runs at 60Hz; the main panel adapts its refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz. The size and refresh figures are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of a particular app experience.
Camera hardware
The rear system combines a 50MP wide camera with optical image stabilization and a 12MP ultrawide camera. A 10MP camera sits inside for selfies and video calls. These numbers describe camera hardware; they do not establish image quality in every lighting condition.

Battery capacity
Samsung lists a typical capacity of 4,000mAh and a rated capacity of 3,887mAh. The adapter is not included as a standard assumption: Samsung says its 25W adapter is sold separately. Charging results and battery life depend on the charger, usage, and network conditions.
What Samsung says about the foldable design
In a July 23, 2024 engineering article, Samsung describes the main screen as having a protective film and flexible protective layer over Ultra Thin Glass, which it says is 60% thicker than in the prior design discussed in that article. Samsung also describes a symmetrical dual-rail hinge, Enhanced Armor Aluminum at the hinge cover and case, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, and the first vapor chamber in the Z Flip series. These are manufacturer descriptions; they should not be read as independent durability tests or proof of how the phone will hold up in a particular situation. Samsung’s engineering article gives the company’s explanation of those design changes.

Protection and practical ownership
Samsung’s 2024 Galaxy Z Flip6 Product Environmental Report states an IP48 rating and seven generations of OS upgrades plus seven years of security updates from global launch. Treat these as Samsung’s stated specifications and support commitments; the cited information does not establish a real-world durability outcome or a current software update schedule.
If you want a case, choose one explicitly listed for the Galaxy Z Flip6 and check the exact model compatibility, particularly around the hinge. Do not assume a case made for an earlier Galaxy Z Flip generation will fit. The phone launched in 2024: Samsung said pre-orders began July 10 and general availability began July 24 that year, dates that do not indicate current stock or price.
