The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE is already a real product, not a rumored watch still on the horizon. Samsung announced it on June 13, 2024; U.S. sales of the 40mm Bluetooth model began June 24, with an LTE version planned to follow. Its original U.S. MSRP was $199.99 for Bluetooth and $249.99 for LTE, but Samsung later marked both FE versions end-of-life, so availability and prices now depend on current stock.
When did the Galaxy Watch FE launch?
Samsung announced the first Galaxy Watch FE on June 13, 2024. In the United States, the 40mm Bluetooth model became available June 24 through Samsung.com, Samsung Experience Stores, carriers, and retailers; Samsung said an LTE model would follow. Samsung’s global announcement described availability during summer 2024 and listed Black, Pink Gold, and Silver finishes. Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement and its global announcement establish the release details.
How much did the Galaxy Watch FE cost?
Samsung’s October 2024 U.S. MSRP sheet listed the 40mm Bluetooth versions at $199.99 and the 40mm LTE versions at $249.99. Those are historical manufacturer suggested retail prices, not a guarantee of today’s selling price. In a March 2025 U.S. MSRP sheet, Samsung marked the FE Bluetooth and LTE SKUs “EOL” while retaining the listed MSRPs. That means buyers should check live inventory, seller, condition, and price rather than assume regular new-stock availability. Samsung’s October 2024 MSRP sheet and March 2025 MSRP sheet document those figures and status.
What hardware does the Galaxy Watch FE have?
The FE is a 40mm watch with a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display at 396 × 396 resolution. It runs on Samsung’s Exynos W920 dual-core processor clocked at 1.18GHz, with 1.5GB of memory and 16GB of storage. Samsung specifies a typical 247mAh battery. At launch, it shipped with Wear OS Powered by Samsung and One UI 5 Watch. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch FE specifications list the hardware.
#1 Best Overall
- BioActive Sensor Technology: Advanced sensor measures heart rate, blood oxygen, and body composition for detailed wellness insights.
- Super AMOLED Display: 1.2-inch always-on display delivers sharp visuals and clear readability for notifications and fitness data.
- Wear OS Powered by Samsung: Access Google apps, Play Store, and seamless integration with compatible Android devices.
- Durable and Lightweight Design: Aluminum case with water and dust resistance designed for everyday use and active lifestyles.
- Comprehensive Fitness and Sleep Tracking: Tracks workouts, activity, sleep patterns, and provides insights to support daily wellness goals.
The aluminum case is protected by sapphire crystal. Samsung lists 5ATM water resistance, IP68 ingress protection, and MIL-STD-810G testing. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, and GPS; LTE is available on the LTE model. These ratings and features do not make the watch indestructible or suitable for every environment, so follow Samsung’s care and use guidance.
What health and Galaxy features are included?
Samsung lists sleep-pattern monitoring and coaching, heart-rate alerts, irregular-heart-rhythm notifications, ECG, blood-pressure monitoring in supported markets, more than 100 workout modes, advanced running analysis, personalized heart-rate zones, and body-composition measurements. Ecosystem features include Find My Phone, Camera Controller, and Samsung Wallet. The exact feature set can depend on country, carrier, and the paired phone; blood-pressure monitoring, in particular, is not available in every market. Check Samsung’s specifications and compatibility information for your region and device.

How does the FE compare with a newer Galaxy Watch?
The FE’s value is not that it has the newest hardware: its W920 processor, 247mAh battery, and launch-era One UI 5 Watch position it as an older, entry-oriented Galaxy watch. Its 40mm size, sapphire crystal, and range of Samsung Health features may still appeal to someone who wants a compact Galaxy watch, particularly if the price is low and the device is in good condition.

- Track your fitness progress with precise health metrics using the built-in BIA sensor and customized heart rate zones for tailored workout insights.
There is no single current price comparison that can be made from Samsung’s historical MSRP records alone. Before choosing an FE over a newer model or a used Watch 6 or Watch 7, compare the actual asking price, condition, warranty, battery health, connectivity variant, and the newer model’s specifications. A cheaper purchase price may not be a better value if the device is worn, lacks a return option, or does not meet your feature needs.
