Choose the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 if you want an 11-inch Android tablet with an AMOLED display and prefer Samsung’s software and device ecosystem. Choose the 11-inch iPad Air M4 if you want iPadOS, Apple’s M4 hardware, and Apple Pencil compatibility. The available official specifications do not establish a direct performance or display winner, and the better value depends on current local prices and the accessories you need.
Which models are being compared?
This is an 11-inch-versus-11-inch comparison: Samsung identifies the Galaxy Tab S11 as an 11.0-inch tablet, while Apple sells the iPad Air M4 in both 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. Apple introduced the M4 generation in March 2026. If you want a larger screen for split-screen work, drawing, or media, consider the 13-inch Air as a separate size option rather than treating it as a direct match for the Tab S11. Samsung’s Tab S11 announcement and Apple’s M4 Air announcement describe these product generations.
What matters most in the choice?
Operating system and devices you already use
The Tab S11 runs Android with Samsung’s One UI; the iPad Air runs iPadOS. Start with the apps, phone, file habits, and accessories you already rely on. If your everyday setup is built around Samsung or Android devices, the Tab S11 may fit more naturally. If you already use an iPhone, Mac, or iPad-specific apps and accessories, the Air may be the simpler match. These are ecosystem considerations, not a claim that one platform is universally better.

Screen technology and size
Samsung identifies the Tab S11’s display as AMOLED. Apple specifies an IPS Liquid Retina display for the 11-inch iPad Air M4, with a rated brightness of 500 nits. Those are different display technologies, but the published specifications alone do not prove which screen looks better in everyday use; viewing conditions and personal preference matter. Apple’s 500-nit figure is an official specification, not a same-condition comparison with Samsung. Samsung’s product materials and Apple’s technical specifications list the respective display details.

Performance and memory
Apple lists an M4 chip and 12GB of unified memory for the 11-inch iPad Air M4. Samsung’s official materials identify the Tab S11 processor, but the specifications cited here are not a controlled, side-by-side benchmark. Do not treat chip names or memory figures as a measured verdict on which tablet will be faster for your apps.
How do the stylus and keyboard costs compare?
Apple lists compatibility with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C); those are accessory options to account for separately when pricing an iPad Air setup. For the Tab S11, check the exact regional model and sales bundle to confirm whether an S Pen is included, then verify that any case or keyboard you plan to buy fits that model. The useful comparison is the total for the tablet, pen, and keyboard you will actually use—not the tablet price alone. Apple’s specification page lists supported Pencil models; Samsung’s India product page is a regional reference, not confirmation of every market’s bundle.

What do the prices and support commitments tell you?
Apple announced U.S. launch starting prices of $599 for the 11-inch Wi-Fi iPad Air M4 and $799 for the 13-inch Wi-Fi model. These are historical launch prices, not current retailer quotes. The cited official sources do not establish a comparable current U.S. Galaxy Tab S11 price, so there is no supported price winner here. Check both products in your market at the same time, matching storage, Wi-Fi or cellular capability, and required accessories.

That is Samsung’s stated commitment on a regional page; check the terms applicable to the specific market and model you are buying. It does not support a conclusion here that the Tab S11 will receive longer support than the iPad Air. Samsung India’s Tab S11 page gives the commitment; Apple’s cited materials do not provide a directly comparable support-duration figure.

Which tablet should you buy?
- Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 if Android and Samsung’s ecosystem suit your devices and apps, you prefer to consider an AMOLED screen, and the local tablet-and-accessory bundle works for your budget.
- Choose the 11-inch iPad Air M4 if you want iPadOS, Apple’s M4 platform, and support for Apple Pencil Pro or Apple Pencil (USB-C), and its complete configuration fits your budget.
- Consider the 13-inch iPad Air M4 if additional screen area matters more than matching the Tab S11’s size; it is a larger alternative, not an 11-inch equivalent.
Before buying, compare current local listings for the exact storage and connectivity configurations you want, add the price of any pen or keyboard not included, and confirm accessory compatibility. That produces a more useful answer than comparing launch prices or specifications in isolation.
