The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 is the smaller, 11-inch member of Samsung’s 2025 flagship tablet lineup. It has a 120 Hz AMOLED display, an included S Pen, and the same listed processor as the much larger Tab S11 Ultra. The key trade-off is straightforward: choose the S11 if you want a more manageable tablet for notes, drawing, and everyday use; consider the Ultra if its 14.6-inch canvas is worth the extra size and cost. Samsung’s published specifications describe capable hardware, but the available evidence does not include independent testing of speed, battery runtime, display measurements, or pen latency.
What the Galaxy Tab S11 is—and what this review can establish
The Galaxy Tab S11 is Samsung’s 11-inch premium Android tablet, announced on September 4, 2025. Samsung lists a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, Android 16 with One UI 8, and an S Pen in the box. Those specifications place it in the same broad product family as the 14.6-inch Tab S11 Ultra, but in a more compact format.
This is a specification-based review, not a hands-on test. Samsung’s materials establish the advertised features and hardware, but do not establish how quickly the tablet performs in independent benchmarks, how long it lasts in real-world use, how bright its screen measures, or how the pen feels in practice. Treat Samsung’s AI and multitasking descriptions as manufacturer claims rather than independent findings.

How the S11 compares with the Tab S11 Ultra
The most consequential difference is not the listed processor; Samsung names the same Dimensity 9400+ for both. It is the screen size and the physical footprint. The Ultra gives more room for split-screen work, drawing, and media, while the standard S11 is the more compact choice. Both are specified with Dynamic AMOLED 2X and refresh rates up to 120 Hz.

Samsung’s US starting prices and availability date of September 4, 2025 are historical launch information, not verified current retail prices. The battery figures are manufacturer-listed typical capacities, not comparative battery-life tests. Samsung’s US launch announcement has the full specifications.
Choose the S11 if portability matters more than maximum workspace
The standard S11 is the better fit if you expect to hold the tablet often, carry it between classes or meetings, or use it primarily for reading, handwritten notes, browsing, and streaming. Its 11-inch panel still has a 2560 × 1600 resolution and refresh rates up to 120 Hz, according to Samsung.

The Ultra’s 14.6-inch display provides substantially more physical screen area for a keyboard-based setup, multiple app windows, and detailed visual work. The trade-off is a larger device and a higher launch starting price. The available specifications do not establish that the Ultra is faster in general use, since Samsung lists the same processor for both.
Is the Galaxy Tab S11 good for work, study, and creative tasks?
Samsung positions the S11 series for productivity and creative work. It advertises Galaxy AI tools including Drawing Assist and Writing Assist, along with Samsung DeX Extended Mode for using the tablet with an external monitor. Samsung says DeX can support up to four workspaces. These features may appeal if you already use Samsung’s software ecosystem, but the manufacturer’s materials do not independently demonstrate their speed or usefulness in a particular workflow.

Samsung also names Noteshelf 3 for note-taking, ArcSite for CAD layouts, Sketchbook for illustration, and Picsart for design. The company notes that some apps need to be downloaded separately and that additional features may require purchase. Check current app availability and terms before relying on any one app for work or study.
For handwritten notes and drawing
The S Pen is included, so you do not need to add the cost of a separate pen to get started. Samsung’s product information does not provide independent pen-latency measurements or hands-on drawing assessments, so artists who are particular about response, balance, or surface feel should try the device in person if possible.

For a laptop-like setup
Samsung promotes DeX and external-display Extended Mode, but the tablet does not become a laptop simply by adding a keyboard. Check that your intended apps support your workflow, and budget for the keyboard accessory if you want a physical typing surface. The larger Ultra may be more comfortable for a mostly desk-based setup; the standard S11 is the more sensible starting point when carrying the tablet is part of the routine.
Which Tab S11 configuration should you buy?
Compare local prices rather than assuming the US launch price applies in your market. Storage, connectivity, and model availability differ by region. Samsung’s UK launch release listed Wi-Fi and 5G versions, while the US launch figures above give starting prices and storage tiers.

- Choose storage for your offline files. The S11 has 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB US launch tiers, and Samsung lists microSD expansion up to 2 TB. A card can help with compatible files, but it is not a substitute for internal storage in every app or workflow.
- Pay for 5G only if you need mobile data. UK launch materials show a 5G premium over the corresponding Wi-Fi tiers. Compare that price difference with your existing phone hotspot or other connectivity options.
- Add accessory costs to the tablet price. The keyboard and screen protector are separate accessories, and Samsung’s US launch announcement says the charger and 5 A cable are sold separately.
Does the Galaxy Tab S11 come with an S Pen?
Yes. Samsung lists an S Pen in the box for the Galaxy Tab S11. The pen is not the same purchase decision as a keyboard: Samsung identifies the Book Cover Keyboard Slim as a separate accessory. Confirm the contents of the exact regional package you are buying, since Samsung notes that specifications and configurations can vary by model.

Samsung names a Tab S11-specific Book Cover Keyboard Slim, and Samsung Australia says the S11 supports it alongside the S Pen. Japan’s launch release also lists a Book Cover and an anti-reflecting screen protector as separate accessories. Confirm that a listing is for the standard Tab S11 rather than the larger Ultra, and check local bundles and current pricing before ordering.
For context only, Samsung Japan’s September 2025 launch prices were ¥14,800 for the standard S11 Book Cover Keyboard Slim, ¥11,770 for the Book Cover, ¥3,630 for the anti-reflecting screen protector, and ¥8,580 for an S Pen. How long will Samsung support the Tab S11?
Samsung India’s product listing states up to seven generations of Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch. That is a regional listing statement; check Samsung’s support terms for your country and exact model before treating it as a promise that applies everywhere. Verdict: is the Galaxy Tab S11 worth considering?
The Galaxy Tab S11 makes the most sense for someone who wants Samsung’s high-end tablet features in an 11-inch format and values the included S Pen. The Ultra is the more appropriate option when a very large display is central to the work, while the standard S11 is the more portable choice. Before deciding, compare current local prices for the storage and connectivity tier you need, then account for a keyboard, protection, and charging accessories. Samsung’s specifications make the S11 a promising option on paper; they are not a substitute for independent testing if measured performance or battery life is decisive for you.
