The Samsung Galaxy S26 is the smaller, lighter option; the Motorola Signature has the larger, higher-refresh display and higher listed battery capacity. Neither is a clear overall winner on specifications alone. Price depends on country, storage and date: the latest US S26 prices reported here are $999 for 256GB and $1,199 for 512GB, while the Signature’s listed €1,000 price is for a 16GB/512GB model and is not a like-for-like US comparison.
Samsung Galaxy S26 vs Motorola Signature: key differences
| Specification | Samsung Galaxy S26 | Motorola Signature | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.3 inches across the full rectangle; 6.1 inches accounting for rounded corners | 6.8 inches, according to PhoneArena | The Signature gives you a larger screen; the S26 is more compact. |
| Resolution and refresh rate | 2340 × 1080; 120 Hz, per PhoneArena | 2780 × 1264; 165 Hz, per PhoneArena | The Signature has higher listed resolution and refresh rate. These figures alone do not establish which screen looks better. |
| Dimensions and weight | 149.6 × 71.7 × 7.2 mm; 167 g | 162.1 × 76.4 × 6.99 mm; 186 g | The S26 is shorter, narrower and lighter. The Signature is slightly thinner by the listed body measurements. |
| Chipset | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy or Exynos 2600, depending on market | Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, according to PhoneArena | Samsung’s chipset varies by region; chip names are not a substitute for comparable performance testing. |
| Memory and storage | 12GB RAM; 256GB or 512GB storage, subject to market availability | 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, according to PhoneArena | Check the exact regional model before comparing prices. |
| Battery capacity | 4,300 mAh typical; 4,175 mAh rated/minimum | 5,200 mAh, according to PhoneArena | The Signature has greater listed capacity, but that does not prove longer battery life. |
| Rear cameras | 12MP ultra-wide, 50MP wide and 10MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom | Triple rear camera, according to PhoneArena; detailed setup not established here | The S26’s listed telephoto specification is clear; these specifications do not establish a camera-test winner. |
| Water and durability ratings | IP68 | IP69 and MIL-STD 810H, according to PhoneArena | Ratings describe tested resistance, not a guarantee against damage. |
How the displays and size compare
Samsung gives the S26 display measurement as 6.3 inches across the full rectangle and 6.1 inches when its rounded corners are accounted for; the actual viewable area is also reduced by the camera opening. The Signature’s 6.8-inch figure is from PhoneArena. Samsung’s official explanation of its display measurement is available in its Galaxy S26 specifications.
In practical terms, the S26’s smaller dimensions and lower weight favor people who want a phone that is easier to carry or hold one-handed. The Signature’s larger panel and 165 Hz listed refresh rate may appeal to readers who prioritize screen size and smooth scrolling. Refresh rate and resolution are not complete measures of display quality, so those numbers should not be treated as a hands-on verdict.

Battery capacity is not the same as battery life
Samsung specifies a 4,300 mAh typical battery for the S26 and a 4,175 mAh rated/minimum capacity. PhoneArena lists 5,200 mAh for the Signature. The larger listed capacity may be attractive if battery capacity is a priority, but it cannot by itself show which phone lasts longer: no comparable head-to-head battery-life test figure is established here.

Camera comparison
Samsung lists a 12MP ultra-wide, 50MP wide and 10MP telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom for the S26. PhoneArena describes the Signature as having a triple rear camera, but a detailed setup was not independently established here. Camera counts and megapixel figures do not settle image quality, and there is no comparable camera test establishing a winner.
Durability ratings and their limits
PhoneArena lists IP68 for the S26 and IP69 plus MIL-STD 810H for the Signature. Samsung says the S26’s IP68 rating is based on laboratory conditions of up to 1.5 metres in freshwater for up to 30 minutes, and cautions that resistance can diminish through wear. These ratings are not interchangeable with a damage guarantee; handling, exposure and wear still matter.

Samsung Galaxy S26 vs Motorola Signature price difference
There is no reliable universal price gap without matching market, date and storage. PhoneArena lists the S26 at $899 for 12GB/256GB and $1,300 for 12GB/512GB, and lists the Signature at €1,000 for 16GB/512GB. Those figures use different currencies and do not match the S26’s storage configurations directly.

The 256GB figure is a reported new starting price, not the earlier $899 listing. No comparable current US Signature price is established here, so subtracting its euro listing from a US S26 price would be misleading. For a useful local comparison, check current prices in your country for the storage versions you would actually buy. Also confirm regional availability: Samsung notes that S26 memory and chipset configurations can vary by market.
