Neither the 2026 base-model Samsung Galaxy S26 nor the Google Pixel 10 is a universal champion. The Pixel 10 has the longer telephoto specification and lasted longer in one published battery test; the S26 has a different display panel and charged somewhat faster in that test’s short intervals. For photos, software, and value, the better choice depends on what matters to you and on the price and availability in your market.
This comparison covers only the standard Galaxy S26 and standard Pixel 10—not the S26+, S26 Ultra, Pixel 10 Pro, or Pixel 10 Pro XL. Regional specifications and configurations can vary.
How do the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 compare?
| Feature | Samsung Galaxy S26 | Google Pixel 10 |

| Rear cameras | 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultrawide, and 10 MP 3x telephoto. | 48 MP wide, 13 MP ultrawide, and 10.8 MP 5x telephoto. |

| Software support commitment | Seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch, according to Samsung. | Seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates, according to Google. |
| Battery-test result | 11 hours 28 minutes in Tom’s Guide’s test. | 13 hours 21 minutes average in Tom’s Guide’s test. |
Specifications are from Samsung’s 2026 Galaxy S26 announcement, its Galaxy S26 product page, the Google Pixel 10 specifications, and Google’s Pixel 10 feature page. The battery figures are Tom’s Guide’s March 14, 2026 comparison test, not manufacturer guarantees. Samsung’s support wording is also described in its Galaxy S26 Product Environmental Report.

Which phone is better for photos and zoom?
For stated optical reach, the Pixel 10’s 5x telephoto lens extends farther than the S26’s 3x telephoto. That is a useful distinction if you often photograph distant subjects, but it does not by itself establish which phone takes better pictures overall.

- FIT EVERYONE IN THE SHOT: Group selfies are easier on your Samsung phone with a wider front camera⁴ that captures more of the scene, so no one gets left out of the moment
The wide and ultrawide camera specifications also differ: Samsung lists a 50 MP wide and 12 MP ultrawide camera, while Google lists a 48 MP wide and 13 MP ultrawide camera. Megapixel counts alone cannot settle image quality. Sensor and processing behavior, lighting, motion, portraits, video, and the particular zoom mode all affect results. The available specifications do not establish a controlled overall camera winner, so use representative side-by-side samples for the types of photos you actually take.
Which display is the better fit?
Both phones are listed with 6.3-inch displays, but the labels and specifications are not identical. Samsung identifies the S26 panel as Dynamic AMOLED 2X with adaptive refresh up to 120 Hz; Google calls the Pixel 10 panel Actua. Screen size alone does not show which is brighter, more comfortable, or easier to view outdoors. A meaningful preference depends on measured performance and your own viewing needs, not the shared diagonal measurement.

Which phone lasts longer, and which charges faster?
In Tom’s Guide’s March 14, 2026 comparison, the Pixel 10 averaged 13 hours 21 minutes in that outlet’s battery test, versus 11 hours 28 minutes for the Galaxy S26. Tom’s Guide also reported that the S26 charged somewhat faster during the test’s short charging intervals. These are results from one publication’s testing, not a promise of everyday battery life or a guarantee that every user will see the same difference.
Samsung lists the S26 battery at 4,300 mAh typical capacity. That figure cannot be directly compared with Google’s cited battery-life claims as though the manufacturers used a shared test. Your results will also depend on settings, apps, network conditions, and usage.

How do their software and update promises differ?
Google promises seven years of operating-system, security, and Pixel Drop updates for the Pixel 10. Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the Galaxy S26’s global launch. Those are the manufacturers’ stated commitments; the wording is not identical, and it does not establish identical update timing or rollout schedules.
Beyond support duration, choose based on the Android interface and features you prefer, and on how each phone fits the devices and services you already use. The available product information does not establish one ecosystem as the right choice for everyone.

Which one should you buy?
- Lean toward the Pixel 10 if the stated 5x telephoto reach suits your photography, you prefer Google’s software experience, or you give weight to its longer result in Tom’s Guide’s battery test.
- Lean toward the Galaxy S26 if Samsung’s interface and features suit you better, you prefer its stated display specification, or the slightly faster short-interval charging reported in that test matters to your routine.
- Compare both in person or through sample-based reviews if camera quality, screen comfort, or everyday responsiveness is your deciding factor. The listed specifications do not prove a universal winner in those areas.
Before buying, check the current price in your country, storage tier, unlocked or carrier configuration, network compatibility, stock, and any trade-in or carrier terms. Prices and availability are local and change over time; no live price comparison is established here. Samsung also notes that regional configurations may differ, so verify the exact model sold in your market.
