The Samsung Galaxy S26 is the more compact phone. Samsung rates its display at 6.3 inches diagonally across the full rectangle, or 6.1 inches when the rounded corners are excluded. The Galaxy A37 has a 6.7-inch display and a larger typical battery, 5,000 mAh against the S26’s 4,300 mAh. Both battery figures are manufacturer ratings, not measured battery life.
There is no single price difference to quote. The prices Samsung has published for the two phones cover different storage tiers, different dates, and different purchase types, so the figures cannot be subtracted to produce one reliable gap. The sections below set out what each number means and how to compare prices for your own country.
Specifications side by side
The table below lists only the values that the available Samsung material states for each phone. Where a value is missing for one model, the cell says so rather than filling it in from another model.

Display and size
The S26’s 6.3-inch figure is measured across the full rectangle, while the 6.1-inch figure drops the rounded corners. Samsung uses both conventions, so a comparison should use the same one for both phones. The A37’s 6.7-inch figure is the only measurement Samsung gives for that model in the material reviewed, so the on-paper difference is 0.4 inches in favour of the A37 under the full-rectangle convention. The S26 uses the smaller of the two measurements and is therefore the easier phone to hold and pocket, but the material reviewed does not include body dimensions or weight, so that difference is not quantified here.

The A37 also specifies a 120Hz refresh rate on an FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. The S26’s display technology and refresh rate are not covered in this comparison, so no display-quality verdict is possible.
Battery
The A37’s 5,000 mAh figure is described by Samsung as a typical capacity, while the S26’s 4,300 mAh figure is a rated capacity. Higher capacity does not by itself mean longer use: runtime depends on the processor, display, network conditions and software, and none of these were measured in a matched test for this comparison. Treat the battery gap as a specification difference only.

Cameras
Samsung México’s regional specification for the A37 lists three rear cameras at 50MP, 8MP and 5MP, plus a 12MP front camera. The S26’s camera hardware is not covered in the material reviewed, so no camera comparison can be made. Megapixel counts indicate sensor resolution, not image quality, and the A37 figures come from a regional model page, so the rear camera arrangement should be checked against the SKU sold in your market.

The A37 is offered in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations in the US, with no microSD slot for expansion. The S26 is sold in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB tiers according to Samsung’s March 2026 US price file. Because the storage tiers differ, compare storage capacity before comparing price. The S26’s RAM is not stated in the material reviewed.

Price difference: why there is no single number
The figures Samsung has published fall into three categories, and each means something different. The table below keeps them separate.
| Figure | Model and storage | Price type | Date and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| $449.99 | Galaxy A37, US, storage tier not specified in the announcement | Launch starting price | Samsung US Newsroom, 2026 |
| $609.99 | Galaxy A37, unlocked 256GB | Displayed price on Samsung’s US product page | Observed October 7, 2026 (Samsung US product page) |
| $799.99 | Galaxy S26, 128GB | US MSRP | Samsung Electronics America MSRP file, March 2026 |
| $899.99 | Galaxy S26, 256GB | US MSRP | Samsung Electronics America MSRP file, March 2026 |
| $1,099.99 | Galaxy S26, 512GB | US MSRP | Samsung Electronics America MSRP file, March 2026 |
The A37’s $449.99 is a launch price
Samsung’s US announcement gave the A37 a starting price of $449.99. That is a launch figure, not a current one, and the announcement does not say which storage tier it applies to. It should not be used as today’s price.

The A37’s $609.99 is a page price
When the Samsung US product page was checked on October 7, 2026, it showed $609.99 for an unlocked 256GB A37. Page prices can change and may not match what a retailer charges, so this figure describes one page on one day.

The S26 figures are MSRP tiers
Samsung’s March 2026 US price file lists the S26 at $799.99 for 128GB, $899.99 for 256GB and $1,099.99 for 512GB. These are manufacturer price points, not a statement of what any retailer is charging now.

The closest storage match in these sources is 256GB on both phones: $899.99 for the S26 and $609.99 for the A37. That pairing shows the likely direction of the gap in the US, but it mixes an MSRP file from March with a page price from October, so it is an indication rather than a verdict.
Quick Recap
How to build a fair comparison
- Choose the country you are buying in. US figures do not apply to other markets, and regional model specifications can differ.
- Match storage on both phones, for example 128GB against 128GB.
- Match the purchase type: unlocked price against unlocked price, or carrier offer against carrier offer, with the terms stated.
- Record the retailer or page and the date you checked it, since both prices change.
- Check whether a charger is included before comparing totals. Samsung’s US product page for the A37 says one is not included.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the Galaxy S26 if a smaller phone matters more than screen area, and you want a flagship-series model with 128GB to 512GB storage options.
- Choose the Galaxy A37 if you want the larger stated display, the higher typical battery rating, and a 120Hz panel, and you can live with a 6GB/128GB base configuration and no microSD slot.
- Do not decide on camera or performance from these figures alone. Megapixel counts and capacity ratings are not test results, and no matched independent tests are part of this comparison.
- Verify the price in your country at the storage size and purchase type you intend to buy, on the day you buy.
