The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is the better fit if you want a large screen, built-in S Pen and more zoom options; the vivo X300 FE is the more compact choice, with a larger stated battery capacity and higher-wattage charging. In India, the available prices are not a like-for-like snapshot: Samsung’s live listing and vivo’s reported launch price differ in type and date, so they do not establish today’s price gap.
India prices: what the available figures do—and don’t—show
The Samsung price below is a live listing captured in 2026, while the vivo figure is a reported launch price from May 2026. They are not equivalent current offers, so subtracting them would produce a misleading “price difference.” Check both sellers’ current listings for the same storage configuration before buying.
| Phone | India price evidence | Configuration and price type |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra | ₹154,999 displayed price; ₹169,999 MRP | 256GB/12GB on Samsung India’s live buy page when retrieved in 2026; volatile offer. Samsung India buy page |
| Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra | Starting at ₹139,999 | Launch starting price announced by Samsung Newsroom India on March 6, 2026; not the live price for a specified configuration. Samsung Newsroom India |
| vivo X300 FE | ₹79,999 | India launch price reported by Android Central on May 13, 2026; not a verified current sale price. Android Central review |
A current official vivo India transaction price was not established in the available price evidence. Treat ₹79,999 as historical launch context, not a live quote or guaranteed saving versus Samsung. The models’ configurations also need to be matched when comparing current offers.

Screen size, portability and display
Choose Samsung for a larger viewing area
Samsung lists the S26 Ultra display at 6.9 inches measured across the full rectangle, or 6.7 inches when accounting for rounded corners. Its 3120 × 1440 Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel refreshes at up to 120Hz. The larger screen is the straightforward choice for reading, video and other tasks that benefit from more room, but the phone is also heavier at 214g.
Choose vivo for a more compact phone
The X300 FE has a 6.31-inch display, making it substantially smaller than Samsung’s. vivo’s Singapore specifications list 2640 × 1216 resolution and a 1–120Hz refresh rate, with weight at 191g. That listing also gives a 5,000-nit local peak brightness figure. It is a manufacturer-stated peak, not a directly comparable everyday brightness result: the measurement conditions are not established as matching Samsung’s.

Samsung’s Privacy Display is another point of difference. Samsung Newsroom India described it as the “world’s first built-in Privacy Display for mobile phones”; that first-in-market wording is Samsung’s claim. It is a feature to weigh if limiting shoulder-surfing matters to you, not a reason by itself to assume the phone is the better fit.

Samsung offers more rear camera modules and zoom modes
Samsung India lists four rear cameras: 200MP, 50MP, 50MP and 10MP. Its specifications identify 3x and 5x optical zoom, as well as optical-quality 2x and 10x modes. That gives the S26 Ultra a broader set of stated zoom options.

vivo pairs a 3x telephoto with a compact body
vivo India lists a 50MP ZEISS main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP ZEISS periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The X300 FE is also compatible with vivo’s ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2, described by vivo as a 200mm-equivalent accessory. It must be purchased separately; do not assume it is included with the phone.
Resolution and lens specifications describe hardware, not which phone takes better photographs. No controlled comparison of these exact models establishes a camera-quality winner. If image quality is your deciding factor, compare matched independent samples in the kinds of scenes you shoot—especially low light, moving subjects and distant detail—rather than choosing by megapixel count.

Battery capacity and charging
vivo lists a 6,500mAh typical-capacity battery for the X300 FE and specifies 90W wired FlashCharge plus 40W wireless charging on its Singapore technical page. Samsung India lists a 5,000mAh typical-capacity battery for the S26 Ultra and advertises charging up to 75% in around 30 minutes.

Those figures use different manufacturer metrics: capacity does not establish actual screen-on time, and the stated charging claims are not a matched test. The listed capacity and charging wattage favor vivo on paper, but real endurance depends on the display, network conditions, workload and software. No comparable battery-runtime test for these two phones is established here.

- 6.8" Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to ~1750 nits brightness, HDR10+ support, and ultra-smooth responsiveness for gaming and scrolling.
Processor and software versions
Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report identifies the S26 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and Android 16 with One UI 8.5. vivo India promotes the X300 FE with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5; vivo Singapore’s technical page lists Android 16 and OriginOS 6. These are named platform and regional software details, not an independent performance ranking. The available specifications do not establish comparable benchmark results or software-support durations.
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra if a large, high-resolution screen, S Pen support, Samsung’s Privacy Display or its wider set of listed zoom modes matter most.
- Choose the vivo X300 FE if you prefer a smaller, lighter handset and value its larger stated battery capacity and higher listed charging wattages.
- Compare current India offers carefully if price is decisive: the available Samsung figure is a volatile listing for 256GB/12GB, while the vivo figure is a reported launch price. Confirm current price and storage at the seller before treating one as cheaper.
- Look beyond specs for camera decisions if photo quality is the priority; the hardware list alone cannot settle which produces better results.
