The Galaxy S26 Ultra and Motorola Signature differ most clearly in their camera hardware, display specifications, weight and charging claims. Their announced starting prices—$1,299.99 in the US for Samsung and €999 in select European countries for Motorola—come from different markets, so they do not establish a meaningful direct price gap.

Price: the launch figures are from different markets

Samsung announced a US starting price of $1,299.99 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB configurations. Its current US product page also lists a $1,299.99 starting price before trade-in; promotions may change. Samsung’s US product page

Motorola announced a starting MSRP of €999 for the Signature in select European countries. The company described plans to roll it out to other regions, but the reviewed announcement does not establish a universal price or a US price. Motorola’s launch announcement

Because the prices differ by geography and currency, subtracting them would be misleading. To judge which costs less where you live, compare current prices in the same country, for the same storage tier and purchase type—such as unlocked or carrier-sold—and distinguish regular list prices from trade-in credits, financing and temporary promotions. Availability and offers can change.

Specification figures are manufacturer claims, not results from a matched independent test. In particular, screen refresh-rate figures, battery capacity and camera megapixels do not by themselves establish which phone looks better, lasts longer or takes better photos.

Display: higher published resolution or faster stated refresh rate?

Samsung lists a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive refresh from 1 to 120 Hz. Motorola lists a slightly smaller 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED panel, and its materials advertise a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. The published claims favor Samsung on stated resolution and Motorola on maximum refresh rate. Exact configuration and measurement basis can vary by market, so treat these figures as manufacturer specifications rather than a controlled visual comparison.

Design: Motorola is thinner and lighter on the published figures

Samsung lists the S26 Ultra at 7.9 mm thick and 214 g. Motorola’s launch materials describe the Signature as 6.99 mm thick and 186 g. That makes the Motorola thinner and lighter by those published measurements; it does not, on its own, prove which phone will feel more comfortable in a particular hand or how either will hold up to drops.

Cameras: compare focal roles, not just megapixels

Samsung specifies four rear cameras: a 200 MP wide main camera, 50 MP ultra-wide, 50 MP telephoto and 10 MP telephoto. The two telephoto modules give it two distinct zoom-camera roles on paper.

Motorola promotes four 50 MP camera modules. Its announcement notes that pixel binning on the ultra-wide produces an effective 12.5 MP photo resolution. A 50 MP label therefore does not mean every camera saves a 50 MP image in every mode, and megapixel counts alone cannot determine image quality. No matched independent camera test is established here; readers deciding between them should look for samples and testing that cover the lenses and shooting conditions they care about.

Battery and charging: capacity and wattage are not endurance tests

Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery and says the S26 Ultra can reach up to 75% charge in around 30 minutes. Its US product page advertises up to 25 W wireless charging. Motorola Support lists a 5,200 mAh battery and charging up to 90 W wired and 50 W wireless; Motorola identifies the battery as silicon-carbon. Motorola Support specifications

The listed capacity and charging rates give Motorola the larger battery figure and higher stated charging wattages. They do not establish which phone lasts longer in daily use: screen settings, network conditions, software and workload affect endurance, and the figures are not from a matched battery test.

Software support: the published claims are not equally specific

Motorola’s 2026 launch announcement promises up to seven Android OS and security updates for the Signature. The reviewed Samsung launch excerpt does not provide an equivalent support duration, so it is not enough to make a direct support-period comparison. Check Samsung’s current official policy for the S26 Ultra in your market before treating update longevity as a deciding factor.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Consider the Galaxy S26 Ultra if its listed QHD+ display, two telephoto camera modules, built-in Privacy Display or available US configurations align with what you value. Samsung introduced Privacy Display as a built-in feature in its launch announcement. Samsung’s February 25, 2026 launch announcement
  • Consider the Motorola Signature if a thinner, lighter published profile, larger listed battery capacity, higher stated wired and wireless charging rates, or Motorola’s stated update commitment are priorities—and the phone is available at a suitable price in your market.
  • Before buying either, compare same-country prices for the same storage, check current local availability, and consult independent camera and battery tests if those outcomes matter more than the specification sheet.
