The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and Google Pixel 11 Pro XL start at nearly the same US price: $1,299.99 and $1,299, respectively. The S26 Ultra has a slightly larger screen and an integrated Privacy Display; the Pixel lists Qi2.2 wireless charging, a 5,115mAh typical battery, and seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. Those specifications point to different priorities, but official launch claims do not establish a winner for camera quality, battery life, or performance.
Price difference: effectively a tie at US launch
Samsung listed the Galaxy S26 Ultra from $1,299.99, with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. Google listed the Pixel 11 Pro XL from $1,299, starting at 256GB; its 256GB model has 12GB of RAM, while the 512GB and 1TB models have 16GB. The one-cent difference is before tax and does not account for storage upgrades, trade-ins, carrier incentives, discounts, or changing retailer prices. These are US launch prices, not live quotes. Compare the same storage tier and current offers before choosing on cost. Samsung’s announcement and Google’s retail announcement provide the launch figures.

Specifications in the table are manufacturer-published. The brightness figures use different modes and are not a controlled, directly comparable test of outdoor visibility. Likewise, a maximum zoom mode describes a camera option, not the detail or quality of its results.

The S26 Ultra offers the larger display at 6.9 inches versus the Pixel’s 6.8 inches. Both manufacturers specify adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Google lists a higher peak-brightness figure, but its HDR and peak figures are not the same measurement as Samsung’s stated peak; the numbers alone do not prove which screen is easier to see outdoors.

Samsung’s Privacy Display
Samsung’s standout display feature is Privacy Display, built into the phone. Samsung says it limits side-angle visibility when switched on and preserves standard viewing when off. That may be useful for people who use a phone in shared spaces or on public transport; whether the effect suits you depends on how and where you use the screen.
Camera hardware and image quality
Google publishes a clear resolution breakdown for the Pixel’s three rear cameras, including a 5x telephoto, and lists Pro Zoom up to 120x. It also specifies 8K recording through Video Boost. Samsung’s launch table lists four rear camera modules, while its announcement emphasizes wider apertures, low-light capture, horizontal lock stabilization in Super Steady, and APV video.

These feature lists do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. Resolution, zoom ceilings, and recording features are not substitutes for controlled comparisons of image quality, stabilization, low-light performance, and usability. The official claims cited here do not include independent side-by-side camera tests.

Battery and charging
Google lists the Pixel’s typical battery capacity as 5,115mAh and Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W. Its stated wired charging rate assumes a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. Samsung claims the S26 Ultra can reach 75% charge in 30 minutes with Super-Fast Charging 3.0, but the cited announcement does not provide a battery-capacity figure that can be compared directly with Google’s.

These specifications describe capacity and charging claims, not how long either phone lasts between charges. No independent battery-endurance test in the cited material establishes a runtime winner.
Performance, software, and support
The S26 Ultra uses a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy; the Pixel 11 Pro XL uses Google’s Tensor G6 and Titan M3 security coprocessor. Samsung claims increases of up to 19% in CPU, 39% in NPU, and 24% in GPU performance against its stated predecessor context. Google claims 25% faster web browsing, 15% quicker app launches, and on-device AI tasks up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy. These are separate manufacturer generational comparisons, not head-to-head results, so they cannot determine which phone is faster.

Google states that the Pixel 11 family will receive seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. The Samsung announcement cited here does not establish a corresponding support term, so it does not support a like-for-like update-period comparison.
