Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra if you want Samsung’s built-in Privacy Display, an included S Pen, a second optical telephoto camera with 5× zoom, or faster listed charging. Choose the Galaxy S26+ if you want a large QHD+ screen and a premium Samsung phone without paying for those Ultra-specific features. The Ultra’s advantages are documented specifications, not proof of better real-world camera results or battery life.
What is the difference between the Galaxy S26 Ultra and S26+?
Both phones have large QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz and Samsung-listed peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The Ultra is larger and adds Privacy Display, an S Pen, more rear-camera hardware, and higher listed charging rates. The Plus is smaller, thinner, and lighter, while retaining a triple-camera system and the same listed screen resolution.

Is the Galaxy S26 Ultra worth it over the S26+?
Pay for the Ultra if its distinctive features solve a real need
- You want an integrated privacy option. The Ultra’s Privacy Display is a listed differentiator if you often use your phone where nearby people might see its screen.
- You will use the S Pen. The Ultra includes a stylus; the Plus does not list one in the box. If note-taking or stylus input is not part of your routine, this feature alone may not justify the price difference.
- You need the longer optical zoom camera. The Ultra adds a 50 MP 5× optical telephoto alongside its 10 MP 3× telephoto. The Plus has one listed optical telephoto, at 3×.
- You value higher listed charging rates. Samsung lists up to 60 W wired charging for the Ultra and up to 45 W for the Plus.
Choose the Plus if you want a large-screen flagship without the extras
The Plus keeps the 3120 × 1440 resolution, up-to-120-Hz adaptive refresh rate, and Samsung-listed 2,600-nit peak brightness of the Ultra, in a 6.7-inch display. Its 190 g listed weight is 24 g less than the Ultra’s 214 g. That makes the Plus the lighter option on paper, though both are large phones and individual comfort depends on the user.

Does the S26 Ultra have a better camera and battery than the S26 Plus?
Camera: the Ultra has more versatile listed hardware, not a guaranteed image-quality win
The Ultra has a higher-resolution main camera on paper and an additional 5× optical telephoto camera. The Plus has a 50 MP main camera and a single 3× optical telephoto. This gives the Ultra more listed camera options, especially for longer-distance optical zoom. Megapixel counts and lens configurations do not by themselves establish which phone takes better photos in everyday conditions; no independent comparative camera test is established here.
Battery: the Ultra has a slightly higher capacity and charging rates
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery for the Ultra and 4,900 mAh for the Plus, along with higher wired and wireless charging rates for the Ultra. These capacity and wattage figures do not establish which model lasts longer on a charge. No independent comparative battery test is established here.

Which Galaxy S26 configuration should you buy in your country?
Do not assume every country sells the same processor configuration. Samsung Germany’s comparison lists Exynos 2600 for the Plus and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy for the Ultra in that regional configuration. Samsung’s corporate interim report describes the series’ platform family as Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 / Exynos 2600, not one universal chip for every market. Check the exact local model or SKU before buying.
Samsung lists Android 16 with One UI 8.5 at launch for both phones. Samsung Germany’s comparison also lists no expandable storage for either model, so select the storage capacity you need when purchasing. Local configurations and availability can differ.

Samsung CEO, President, and Head of Device eXperience Division TM Roh described the company’s AI design intent in its February 25, 2026 announcement: “We believe AI should be something people can depend on every day, it should be designed to work consistently for everyone, without the need for expertise,” and “With the Galaxy S26 series, we focused on making AI feel effortless, working quietly in the background so people can focus on what matters.” These are Samsung’s stated aims, not independent evidence of how the phones perform.
