The Galaxy S26 Ultra adds a 5x telephoto camera, S Pen support and Samsung’s Privacy Display; the Galaxy S26+ keeps a large QHD+ 120Hz screen in a lighter body. At US launch, the Ultra started $200 higher. Later reported US prices also showed a $200 starting-price gap, but the figures depend on date and storage tier. Compare the exact configuration and current local price before buying.

Ultra: more reach and camera options
The Ultra has a higher-resolution main and ultrawide camera, plus a separate 50MP 5x telephoto camera alongside its 10MP 3x telephoto. Samsung lists digital zoom up to 100x. That hardware gives the Ultra more stated zoom options than the Plus.

Price difference by date and storage
US prices have been reported at different times and in different formats. Keep launch starting prices, Samsung’s March 2026 unlocked MSRP list and later reported prices separate rather than treating them as one current price list.

Battery: capacity is not runtime
Samsung lists typical capacities of 5,000mAh for the Ultra and 4,900mAh for the Plus. That 100mAh difference alone does not show which phone lasts longer in everyday use. No matched independent endurance result is established by the cited material, so battery life should not decide between them on capacity figures alone.

Which Galaxy S26 should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra if
- You expect to use the additional 5x telephoto camera or want the Ultra’s broader stated zoom range.
- You want S Pen support or Samsung’s Privacy Display.
- You prefer the larger 6.9-inch screen or need the listed 1TB storage option.
Choose the Galaxy S26+ if
- You want a large QHD+ 120Hz screen without the Ultra’s additional camera hardware and listed exclusive features.
- The 190g weight is preferable to the Ultra’s 214g body.
- The price for your chosen capacity is lower enough to matter more than the Ultra’s added features.
Check these details before paying
- Compare the same storage capacity, market and purchase channel. A 512GB model is not directly comparable with a 256GB model.
- Check the final price after any carrier terms, taxes or promotion, and note when the listed price was reported.
- Confirm the processor and other specifications for the exact regional model; Samsung warns that models can vary by country.
- Decide whether you will actually use the Ultra’s 5x camera, S Pen and Privacy Display, rather than paying for features you do not need.
