The Samsung Galaxy S25 is the smaller, lighter option with a flagship-positioned processor; the realme 16 Pro+ 5G offers a larger, faster-refresh display and substantially higher listed battery capacity and wired charging rate. Their camera specifications also differ sharply, but megapixel counts alone cannot establish which takes better photos. The choice depends on whether you prioritize compact size and Samsung’s listed 3x optical zoom, or a larger screen and realme’s higher-capacity battery and charging specs.
This is an India-focused comparison. Prices and variants can change, and the specifications below are manufacturer-listed figures unless identified otherwise.

The Galaxy S25 is the clear fit if a phone that is easier to hold and carry matters most: Samsung lists it at 162g with a 6.2-inch-class display. The realme is larger at 17.27 cm and weighs roughly 198g or 203g depending on the listed color, so it provides more screen area at the cost of a heavier, bigger device.

realme lists a 144Hz refresh ceiling, compared with Samsung’s up to 120Hz. That is a higher maximum refresh rate, not proof that the realme panel looks better in every situation. Samsung identifies its panel as Dynamic AMOLED 2X, while realme lists AMOLED; those labels and the refresh figures do not by themselves establish perceived brightness, color accuracy, or overall display quality. realme’s India product page also promotes a “6500nit HyperGlow 4D Curve+ Display.” Treat that as a vendor-stated peak-brightness claim, not a guarantee of typical screen brightness.
How do the camera systems differ?
Samsung lists a 50MP main camera, 10MP telephoto and 12MP ultra-wide, with 3x optical zoom. realme lists a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP telephoto also with OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide. For selfies, Samsung lists a 12MP autofocus camera; realme lists a 50MP front camera, but its specification page does not state autofocus.

The headline resolution numbers are not a reliable shortcut to image quality. The listed hardware shows different sensor resolutions and lens roles, but it does not establish which phone produces better photos, portraits, low-light shots or video. No verified controlled head-to-head photo test is available here. Compare sample images from the exact India models if camera output is decisive.
Battery capacity and charging: what the figures do and do not show
realme specifies a 7000mAh typical-capacity battery and up to 80W Ultra Charge. Samsung’s comparison listing gives the Galaxy S25 a 4000mAh battery and 25W charging, and lists wireless charging for Samsung. These figures favor realme on stated battery capacity and maximum wired charging rate, while Samsung has wireless charging listed in the comparison.

Capacity is not a runtime result: it cannot tell you how long a phone will last under your mix of screen brightness, network use, apps and settings. The comparison listing’s runtime figures lack enough protocol detail here to treat them as equivalent laboratory results. realme’s “7000mAh Titan Battery 80W Ultra Charge” wording is the manufacturer’s promotional claim; the specification supports the stated capacity and charging ceiling, not a guaranteed everyday endurance or charge time.
Performance, RAM and storage
Samsung’s India listing describes an octa-core processor with listed CPU speeds up to 4.47GHz and 3.5GHz, alongside 12GB memory and 256GB storage for the listed SKU. realme specifies the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, with three combinations: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB.

These manufacturer specifications do not amount to a controlled performance comparison. The S25 is positioned around a flagship processor, while the realme specification page identifies a different chipset and storage configuration. If you compare prices, match RAM and storage where possible: the S25 listing here is 12GB/256GB, while the realme range includes both 12GB/256GB and lower-priced, lower-storage configurations.

A 91mobiles comparison listing retrieved on 7 October 2026 showed ₹66,000 for the Galaxy S25 and ₹50,499 for the realme 16 Pro Plus, a displayed difference of ₹15,501. The comparison presented the Samsung at 256GB against the realme at 128GB, so it is not a like-for-like storage comparison. These are dated listing snapshots, not verified official MSRPs, launch prices or checkout totals; another listing from the same publisher showed different figures.

Check the current price for the exact model, RAM and storage, seller, and available offers before buying. The listed realme 12GB/256GB version is the closer storage match to the Samsung India SKU cited here, but the snapshot does not establish its price.
What is included in the box?
Samsung says the Galaxy S25 does not include a travel adapter and notes that in-box items may vary by country or region. realme’s cited India specifications confirm support for up to 80W charging but do not establish whether a compatible adapter is included in the box. Check the box contents for the exact regional variant before assuming an adapter is supplied.
Quick Recap
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 if compact size and lower listed weight are priorities, or if you want Samsung’s listed 3x optical zoom and wireless charging.
- Choose the realme 16 Pro+ 5G if you prefer a larger display, a higher listed refresh-rate ceiling, or higher stated battery capacity and wired charging rate.
- Compare samples before deciding on camera quality. The lens and megapixel specifications describe hardware, not a verified photo-quality winner.
- Compare matched storage tiers and current offers. The dated price snapshot compares a 256GB Samsung listing with a 128GB realme listing, and prices can vary.
