The Motorola Signature lists a faster-refresh display, a slightly larger battery and faster charging, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra offers a higher-resolution screen, a dedicated 5x telephoto camera, an S Pen and Samsung DeX. There is no single reliable price difference without specifying a country, storage configuration, seller and date: the available price reference is a historical European launch price for the Signature, not a current matched comparison.

Weight and other features 218g in Samsung’s Korean official specification table; includes S Pen and Samsung DeX. 186g and 6.99mm in Motorola regional product material; Motorola lists IP68/IP69 protection claims.

These are published specifications, not comparative test results. Regional variants can differ, and neither the listed refresh rate nor battery capacity alone establishes how a phone performs in everyday use.

Which display is better on paper?

The Galaxy S25 Ultra has the larger listed screen at 6.9 inches and the higher stated resolution: QHD+. Motorola lists a 6.8-inch 2780×1264 panel and a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, compared with Samsung’s adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. In practical terms, Samsung emphasizes resolution, while Motorola lists the higher refresh ceiling. Those figures do not establish which screen looks better or how often either phone sustains its maximum refresh rate.

How do the camera systems differ?

Samsung’s rear-camera setup combines a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and separate 3x and 5x telephoto cameras. Motorola lists three 50MP rear cameras, including a 3x telephoto. The clearest specification distinction is that Samsung lists a dedicated 5x telephoto as well as a 3x camera; Motorola’s published details identify 3x telephoto coverage.

Megapixel counts and lens labels do not determine image quality by themselves. This comparison is based on manufacturer specifications, not side-by-side camera testing, so it cannot establish which phone takes better photos or video.

Battery capacity and charging

Motorola lists a 5,200mAh battery, compared with Samsung’s 5,000mAh, and charging up to 90W wired and 50W wireless. Samsung lists wired charging up to 45W. Processor, software support and practical extras

Processor and performance

The S25 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, while the Signature lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The chipset names alone do not prove which phone is faster. No directly comparable benchmark results are established here, so a performance winner cannot be responsibly named from these specifications alone.

Software support

Samsung says the S25 Ultra will receive seven OS generations and seven years of security updates from the Galaxy S25 series’ global launch. Motorola’s specifications state up to seven years of OS upgrades and security patches for the Signature. The stated durations are similar, but update schedules, regional terms and delivery can differ; check the manufacturer’s terms for the exact model and market.

Features, size and protection

The Galaxy S25 Ultra includes an S Pen and Samsung DeX. Motorola’s regional product material lists the Signature at 186g and 6.99mm, while Samsung’s Korean specification table lists the S25 Ultra at 218g. Those cited figures make the Signature lighter, but the regional basis of the specifications should be kept in mind. Motorola’s product page also lists IP68/IP69 protection claims; confirm the rating for the specific regional model before buying.

What is the price difference?

A current, fair price gap is not established without matching country, storage capacity, seller and date. The available reference is historical: Android Central reported on February 10, 2026, that the Motorola Signature launched from €999 in select European markets. That is a regional launch starting price, not a verified current street price or a same-storage comparison with the S25 Ultra. The report also said Motorola had no US launch plans at that time; availability may change.

Samsung announced global availability for the Galaxy S25 series beginning February 7, 2025. A launch date does not determine today’s retail price, which can vary with storage, promotions, retailer and country. To calculate a meaningful difference, compare current listings in one country for the same storage capacity and similar unlocked or carrier status.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Consider the Galaxy S25 Ultra if its higher-resolution display, separate 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, S Pen or Samsung DeX matter most to you.
  • Consider the Motorola Signature if its listed 165Hz refresh rate, faster charging, slightly larger battery capacity or lower cited weight are priorities.
  • Compare local prices before deciding if cost is the deciding factor; the available €999 Signature figure is a past launch price in select European markets, not a current like-for-like deal comparison.

Samsung’s official specification sheet lists the S25 Ultra with a 6.9-inch QHD+ display, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, 5,000mAh battery, 12GB RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage. Motorola lists the Signature with Android 16, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 12GB or 16GB RAM, storage from 256GB through 1TB and a triple 50MP rear-camera arrangement. For either model, verify the local SKU and current availability before purchase.
