The Galaxy S25 Ultra is Samsung’s premium flagship, while the Moto G Max is a lower-priced Motorola G-series phone. The comparison depends on which Moto G Max you mean: Motorola’s Brazil model has different specifications from its US-listed model. For a like-for-like comparison, this article uses the 8GB/256GB Brazil configuration and keeps US prices separate from Brazil’s suggested price.
Which Moto G Max is this comparison about?
“Moto G Max” does not identify one universal configuration. Motorola’s Brazil product page describes an 8GB/256GB model with a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 and a 6.8-inch AMOLED display. Motorola’s US support page uses the same name for a 128GB model with a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, an LCD display and a 7,000mAh battery; Motorola cautions that specifications vary by market. The comparison below uses the Brazil model unless a row explicitly says otherwise. Motorola Brazil product page · Motorola US support information
The Samsung model here is the Galaxy S25 Ultra—not the standard Galaxy S25, which appears in some comparison results. Check the exact model name when viewing retailer listings. Gadgets 360 comparison result

#1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
Where the differences matter
Display
Both cited configurations list a 120Hz display, but that number alone does not make the screens equivalent. Samsung specifies a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 1–120Hz range; Motorola lists a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel at 120Hz. The cited Motorola material does not provide a directly comparable resolution or refresh-rate range.
Camera and zoom
Both phones have a 200MP main-camera headline, but megapixels do not establish equal photo quality. The S25 Ultra’s listed system includes ultrawide and two dedicated telephoto cameras, with 3x and 5x optical zoom. Motorola’s Brazil page lists a 200MP OIS main camera and other cameras, but the cited information does not establish equivalent optical telephoto coverage. Do not infer that the cameras perform alike from the main-camera resolution alone.

Performance and battery
The phones use processors from different product tiers: Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy in Samsung’s flagship and Dimensity 6400 in the Brazil Moto G Max. The cited material contains no head-to-head benchmark or independent testing, so it does not support a quantified performance difference. Likewise, the Moto G Max’s larger stated battery capacity—5,200mAh versus Samsung’s 5,000mAh typical value—does not by itself prove longer real-world battery life.

Motorola’s US support information states two OS upgrades and three years of security patches for its US-listed 128GB configuration. That policy should not be applied to the Brazil 8GB/256GB version without checking the local terms. The cited sources do not provide a directly comparable support policy for the Brazil model and the S25 Ultra in one market. Motorola US support information

What is the price difference?
A reliable single price gap cannot be calculated from the cited figures because they come from different countries and currencies. Samsung’s US product page lists the S25 Ultra starting at $1,299.99 before trade-in. Motorola News Brazil announced a suggested price of R$2,799 for the Brazil Moto G Max. Those are not directly comparable prices; taxes, currency, storage, seller, promotions and local availability differ. Samsung US product page · Motorola News Brazil announcement

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 Ultra if you want Samsung’s flagship positioning, S Pen support, a specified QHD+ 120Hz-class display and dedicated 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras.
- Consider the Brazil Moto G Max if you are shopping in Brazil and want its listed 8GB/256GB configuration, AMOLED display, 200MP OIS main camera and 5,200mAh battery at Motorola’s suggested local price. Check current retailer pricing and the exact SKU.
- Compare locally before buying if price is the deciding factor. A US dollar listing and a Brazilian-real suggested price do not show the actual price difference in either market.
These are phones from different product tiers, not direct peers. A decision should rest on local price and exact configuration, camera coverage, display specifications, and verified software-support terms—not on the shared 120Hz or 200MP labels alone.
