Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge online on May 12, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. The thin S-series phone measures 5.8 mm thick and weighs 163 g; its key hardware includes a 6.7-inch display, a 200 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 3,900 mAh typical-capacity battery.
When Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 Edge
Samsung scheduled the online introduction for May 12, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET, then confirmed the reveal and published the full specifications that day. The event is over: this is a look back at the announcement, not a coming Unpacked event. Samsung’s event announcement and its May 12 US launch release document the timing.
How thin is the Galaxy S25 Edge?
Samsung’s global specifications list dimensions of 75.6 × 158.2 × 5.8 mm and a weight of 163 g. Samsung described it at launch as its slimmest S Series device. Those figures establish the phone’s size and weight, but do not by themselves demonstrate how it compares in comfort, durability, or everyday use.
Galaxy S25 Edge specifications
| Feature | Samsung-listed specification |
|---|---|
| Dimensions and weight | 75.6 × 158.2 × 5.8 mm; 163 g |
| Display | 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X; 1–120 Hz refresh rate |
| Rear cameras | 200 MP wide camera with OIS; 12 MP ultra-wide camera |
| Front camera | 12 MP |
| Battery | 3,900 mAh typical capacity; 3,786 mAh rated minimum capacity |
| Memory and storage | 12 GB memory; 256 GB or 512 GB storage in Samsung’s global specification table |
These are specifications, not independent test results. In particular, megapixel counts do not establish image quality, and capacity figures do not establish battery life. Samsung’s listed rear-camera setup has two cameras—a wide and an ultra-wide—and does not list a dedicated telephoto camera. Configurations and feature availability can vary by market. See Samsung Global Newsroom for the May 2025 specification announcement.

TM Roh, then President and Acting Head of Samsung Electronics’ Device eXperience Division, called the S25 Edge “more than a slim smartphone” and framed it as an example of Samsung’s engineering ambitions. That statement is Samsung’s promotional positioning, not an independent evaluation. The attributed quotation appears in Samsung Mobile Press’ May 2025 launch release.
