For a thinner, lighter phone with a larger, sharper display, the Galaxy S25 Edge has the stronger spec-sheet case; for a larger battery, faster stated charging and a dedicated optical telephoto camera, the India OPPO Reno16 5G is better equipped on paper. The price comparison is incomplete: OPPO listed its India Reno16 prices as of 31 August 2026, but a comparable Samsung India price is not established here, so there is no reliable current price gap to calculate.

This comparison uses the OPPO Reno16 5G sold in India, model CPH2865—not the separate Reno16c 5G (CPH2859). OPPO says Reno16-series specifications and prices vary by country: OPPO India Reno16 specifications and price and OPPO Global. Samsung’s specifications are from its 13 May 2025 announcement.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs OPPO Reno16: key specifications

The figures below are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from independent side-by-side testing. The OPPO column refers specifically to the India Reno16 5G, CPH2865.

How the phones differ in everyday priorities

Size and display

The S25 Edge is notably thinner and lighter in the published figures: 5.8 mm and 163 g, compared with the India Reno16’s 8.2–8.4 mm and 182–193 g. Samsung also lists the larger, higher-resolution panel: 6.7-inch QHD+ versus OPPO’s 16.05 cm, 2640 × 1216 display. Both manufacturers specify refresh rates up to 120 Hz. These dimensions and display specifications do not, by themselves, establish comfort, brightness outdoors or overall display quality in use.

Camera setup

The camera hardware is arranged differently. Samsung pairs a 200 MP main camera with a 12 MP ultra-wide; its stated 2× zoom is “optical-quality,” not a separate telephoto camera. The India Reno16 has three 50 MP rear cameras, including a dedicated telephoto with 3.5× optical zoom, plus a 50 MP autofocus front camera. Megapixel counts and lens specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos or video.

Battery capacity and charging

OPPO lists a 6,700 mAh typical battery and 80 W charging for the India Reno16; Samsung lists 3,900 mAh typical and specifies that a 25 W adapter can reach up to 55% in around 30 minutes. These manufacturer figures describe capacity and stated charging, not independently measured battery life or a directly comparable charging-time test.

Performance, memory and protection

The S25 Edge uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, while the India Reno16 uses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Those chipset names identify different hardware platforms, but no controlled performance comparison is available here. Samsung lists 12 GB RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB storage, with market variation. OPPO lists 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, with no memory-card expansion.

Samsung specifies a titanium frame and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 front glass. OPPO lists four ingress-protection ratings—IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K—for the India model. Ratings and materials are not a substitute for a real-world durability test; OPPO also specifies that this model lacks NFC and eSIM.

India prices and the price difference

OPPO’s India page lists ₹66,999 for the 8 GB + 256 GB Reno16 5G and ₹72,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB version, inclusive of taxes. OPPO says these prices were correct as of 31 August 2026 and are subject to change. The reviewed sources do not establish a matched Samsung India price for the S25 Edge, so a current rupee difference cannot be stated reliably.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the Galaxy S25 Edge if

  • A slim, light body is a leading priority.
  • You prefer a larger, higher-resolution display on the published specifications.
  • You want Samsung’s 200 MP main-camera configuration and 2× optical-quality zoom rather than a dedicated telephoto lens.

Consider the India Reno16 5G if

  • You prioritize the listed battery capacity and faster stated wired charging.
  • A dedicated 3.5× optical telephoto camera and 50 MP autofocus front camera matter to your use.
  • You want the listed IP ratings, while accepting that the India model has no NFC or eSIM.

These are trade-offs based on published specifications, not a verdict on real-world endurance, image quality, speed or durability. Before buying, verify the exact model, local cellular-band support, warranty and live price for your country.

Check the Reno16 version before comparing

“OPPO Reno16” is not a single globally identical configuration. This comparison’s Reno16 facts and prices apply to India model CPH2865; OPPO India distinguishes it from the Reno16c 5G, CPH2859, and says specifications and prices for Reno16-series models differ in other countries. OPPO Global also cautions that price, availability and release timing vary by market. Confirm the model number and regional listing before relying on any specification or price in another country.
