The choice comes down to what you want from the phone: the Galaxy S24 Ultra is a conventional large-screen handset with an integrated S Pen and higher-resolution listed camera hardware; the Galaxy Z Fold6 opens into a larger 7.6-inch display for work and multitasking. At US launch, the Fold6 cost $600 more than the S24 Ultra at matching 256GB and 512GB storage tiers. That is a July 2024 MSRP comparison, not a current offer.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 5G: specs comparison
The screen format is the biggest practical difference. The S24 Ultra has one 6.8-inch display, while the Fold6 has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 6.3-inch cover display for use while folded. These are diagonal measurements, not equivalent usable-area figures. Samsung’s product specifications list the S24 Ultra’s display as QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate. What the camera and battery figures tell you
Camera hardware
The S24 Ultra has higher listed resolution on its main camera and 5x telephoto camera, and it has both 3x and 5x telephoto cameras in its listed rear array. The Fold6 lists a 50MP wide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. These specifications describe hardware; they do not establish that every S24 Ultra photo will look better.

Battery capacity
Samsung lists a typical 5,000mAh capacity for the S24 Ultra and 4,400mAh for the Fold6. Capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts in a particular person’s use, so these figures are not a battery-life test.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
Which phone suits your use?
Choose the Galaxy S24 Ultra for a conventional phone and built-in pen
- You want a single large screen rather than a phone that unfolds.
- You expect to use a stylus regularly and prefer the S Pen integrated into the phone.
- You value the S24 Ultra’s higher listed main- and long-telephoto camera resolutions.
- You prefer the higher stated battery capacity, while recognizing that capacity is not a real-world endurance result.
Choose the Galaxy Z Fold6 for its unfolded screen
- You expect to make regular use of a 7.6-inch inner display for reading, multitasking, or other large-screen work.
- You also want a 6.3-inch cover display for using the phone while it is folded.
- You are comfortable checking stylus package contents and compatibility separately if you want to use an S Pen.
Samsung described the Fold6’s cover-screen ratio as fitting “more naturally in the hand” in its global availability announcement. That is Samsung’s product statement, not an independent ergonomics finding. Samsung Global Newsroom, July 2024.

What to check before buying now
Samsung’s US MSRP list effective December 2025 marks the Fold6 256GB and 512GB entries “EOL.” This lifecycle label does not establish whether a retailer has stock, what it charges, or whether used and refurbished units are available. How the durability ratings differ
Samsung lists IP68 for the S24 Ultra and IP48 for the Fold6. These are different ratings; neither means a device is damage-proof, and a rating is not a warranty promise.
