The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the larger, S Pen-equipped choice, with dedicated 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras. The vivo X300 is more compact and lists a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP selfie camera and a Dimensity 9500 processor. There is no single current price difference that applies worldwide: compare new phones with the same storage in your country before deciding.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the S24 Ultra for a large screen, a stylus and optical zoom options
Samsung lists a 6.8-inch QHD+ screen and integrated S Pen support. Its rear array includes separate 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras, useful if you want those specific zoom focal lengths rather than relying only on digital cropping. The phone weighs 232 or 233 g depending on network variant in Samsung’s announcement, so check the exact model if weight and handling matter.

Consider the X300 if you want a smaller-screen phone
Vivo lists a 6.31-inch display, making the X300 the smaller-screen option in this comparison. That does not establish its exact in-hand advantage: dimensions, weight and feel should be checked for the regional model you can buy.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
Compare cameras by use, not megapixel count
The X300’s 200 MP main camera and 50 MP front camera are prominent specifications, but resolution alone does not establish better photos or video. Samsung documents dedicated 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras; vivo’s listed 200 MP main-camera resolution and ZEISS branding do not prove a quality advantage. Portrait rendering, autofocus behavior, video and low-light results need comparable hands-on evidence to rank.
Do not infer speed or endurance from specifications alone
The phones use different processor platforms: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in Samsung’s US launch material and MediaTek Dimensity 9500 on vivo’s global specification page. Without comparable benchmarks, these specifications do not establish which is faster in everyday use or under sustained load.
Rank #2
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
Likewise, the listed battery capacities and charging rates are not real-world battery-life results. Samsung’s charging claim depends on the stated 45 W adapter and 5 A cable, with the adapter sold separately in the UK launch announcement. Vivo’s 6040 mAh typical figure applies to overseas markets except Europe; verify the exact country’s model and charging accessories.
Software support and durability
Samsung committed seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the S24 series in its Galaxy S24 launch announcement. The vivo global specification page lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6 and IP68/IP69 ratings, but the cited material does not establish a matching X300 update-duration commitment. Do not assume the support policies are equivalent.
Rank #3
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
Price difference: compare current, like-for-like offers
There is no globally valid current price gap established for these phones. Price depends on country, storage, condition, stock and seller, and current matched retail offers have not been verified here. Compare new devices in the same country with the same storage capacity; make sure you are not comparing a discounted older-stock S24 Ultra with a different X300 configuration or condition.
For historical context only, Samsung announced a US starting price of US$1,299.99 for the S24 Ultra in 2024. Its UK launch announcement listed recommended retail prices of £1,249 for 256 GB, £1,349 for 512 GB and £1,549 for 1 TB. These are original launch prices, not current prices or a present-day comparison against the vivo X300. Samsung US launch announcement · Samsung UK launch announcement

How to decide between them
- Start with handling: decide whether you prefer the S24 Ultra’s 6.8-inch screen or the X300’s 6.31-inch screen, and check the exact regional model’s weight and dimensions.
- Match camera needs: choose the S24 Ultra if its documented 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras suit your use. Consider the X300’s camera resolution and front-camera specifications as features, not proof of better image quality.
- Account for productivity: the S24 Ultra has S Pen support; decide whether a built-in stylus matters to your work or note-taking.
- Verify the exact battery and charging variant: vivo’s typical battery figure varies by region, and rated charging does not predict your endurance or charge time in every setup.
- Weigh documented support: Samsung states a specific S24-series update commitment; do not treat the cited X300 specifications as evidence of an equivalent duration.
- Compare actual offers: use the same country, storage tier, device condition and purchase date for both phones.
