The S24 FE adds a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera and has the longer update commitment; the A37 is listed as lighter and has a larger battery capacity. There is no reliable universal price difference: Samsung’s published prices are from different dates, markets, and configurations, so compare current prices for the same country and storage tier.

These are Samsung-published specifications and support commitments, not independent performance or camera tests. The display descriptions and refresh-rate wording do not establish which screen looks better in use, and camera megapixel counts do not establish image quality. Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
Galaxy S24 FE: optical telephoto zoom
The S24 FE has a dedicated 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, alongside its main and ultrawide cameras. That gives it a distinct hardware option for framing distant subjects without relying only on digital cropping.
Galaxy A37: macro camera
The A37 substitutes a 5MP macro camera for a telephoto lens and has an 8MP ultrawide camera. That makes its rear-camera set different in purpose, not simply a lower-resolution version of the S24 FE’s. Samsung’s listed camera configurations do not establish a winner for overall photo or video quality.

How do the screens, size, and battery compare?
Both phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with refresh rates up to 120Hz. Samsung identifies the S24 FE panel as Dynamic AMOLED 2X with adaptive 60/120Hz operation, while the A37 uses a Super AMOLED panel rated up to 120Hz. Those labels and specifications describe the panels; they are not a measured brightness, color, or outdoor-visibility comparison.
Samsung lists the A37 at 196g, 17g lighter than the S24 FE’s listed 213g. It is also thinner on the published dimensions, although slightly taller and wider. Samsung notes that the S24 FE’s weight may vary by market, so check the exact regional model if weight is a deciding factor.

The A37 has a listed 5,000mAh typical battery, compared with 4,700mAh for the S24 FE. Capacity alone does not predict how long either phone lasts between charges; screen use, network conditions, software, and other factors affect endurance. Samsung’s US support page lists up to 45W wired charging for the A37 US model. The available S24 FE specifications do not establish a directly comparable charging figure here, so a like-for-like charging-speed conclusion is not supported. Samsung says A-series phones do not support wireless charging.
Which phone has the longer software-support commitment?
Samsung’s launch materials state seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the S24 FE. For the A37, Samsung states up to six generations of OS upgrades and up to six years of security updates from the first global launch, with market and model variation. On the stated duration, the S24 FE has the longer commitment.

Update delivery can depend on country, carrier, and device model. As one dated example, Samsung’s update page for S24 FE model SM-S721B showed an Android 16 update released September 3, 2026, with an August 5, 2026 security patch level; that page cautions that update details vary by device, country, and carrier. Samsung’s S24 FE update page is specific to that model listing.
What is the price difference?
Samsung’s published figures do not provide a current, matched price comparison. They are useful only as market- and date-specific reference points:
- Galaxy A37, United States: Samsung announced a starting price of $449.99 in 2026. This is a launch starting price, not a verified current retail quote or a price matched to a particular S24 FE storage tier. Samsung’s US A37 announcement.
- Galaxy A37, South Korea: Samsung Business Korea reported a launch price of ₩598,400 for the 6GB/128GB regional version in June 2026. Samsung Business Korea’s A37 launch report.
- Galaxy S24 FE, United States: Samsung’s US MSRP list effective October 2024 showed $649.99 for 128GB and $709.99 for 256GB. These are historical MSRPs, not current offers. Samsung’s October 2024 US smartphone price list.
Because the figures differ by date, market, and configuration, subtracting them would not produce a meaningful current price gap. For a purchase decision, compare the same country, storage capacity, seller type (such as unlocked retail versus carrier), and date. Include any plan conditions or discounts in the comparison rather than treating a promotional price as an unconditional handset price.

- Choose the S24 FE on paper if a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera or Samsung’s longer stated software-support period matters most to you.
- Consider the A37 if its lower listed weight, larger stated battery capacity, or its locally available price better fits your priorities. Its macro camera is a different tool from the S24 FE’s telephoto camera.
- Check local listings before deciding on value. A current price verdict requires a matched storage tier and market; the published launch and historical MSRP figures above are not an apples-to-apples live comparison.
Samsung announced the S24 FE on September 27, 2024, and the A37 5G on March 25, 2026. Samsung’s global announcement said A37 availability would begin April 10 in select markets, while its US announcement gave April 9, 2026, for US availability. These are regional release schedules, not contradictory universal dates.
