The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G lists a bigger, faster-refreshing screen and a higher-capacity battery; the Samsung Galaxy S24 5G offers a smaller display and a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera. Those are specification differences, not proof of which phone performs better in everyday use. There is no reliable universal price difference without a country, matching storage versions, and current equivalent-condition listings.

Which phone has the better display?
The POVA 8 Pro 5G has the larger panel at 6.78 inches and lists refresh rates up to 144Hz. The Galaxy S24 has a 6.2-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For a larger screen and a higher listed refresh-rate ceiling, TECNO has the specification advantage; for a more compact phone, Samsung’s smaller display may suit you better.

#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
Which has the better camera?
The Galaxy S24 has a dedicated 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom alongside its 50MP OIS main camera and 12MP ultra-wide. TECNO lists a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide, with no dedicated telephoto camera in the cited rear-camera specification.
If taking zoomed-in shots using a separate telephoto lens matters to you, Samsung has the more versatile listed rear-camera setup. Megapixel counts and camera hardware alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos or video; no independent head-to-head camera test is established here.
Rank #2
- 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh and a peak brightness of ~2,600 nits — giving a noticeably sharper, brighter screen than the base S24.
Which has the bigger battery and faster charging?
TECNO lists a 6500mAh battery and 45W charging. Samsung specifies a 4000mAh typical battery capacity, 3880mAh rated minimum capacity, and 25W wired charging. On capacity and charging wattage, the POVA 8 Pro has higher listed figures, but they do not determine actual battery life or charge time under everyday conditions.

That figure comes from Samsung’s internal lab test using a pre-release phone at 0% charge, with services, features, and the screen turned off; it is not an independent test or a guarantee of a user’s charging time.

- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
How do performance, software, and memory compare?
Processor and performance
TECNO specifies a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor with an octa-core design, 4nm process, and speeds up to 2.6GHz. Samsung lists a deca-core processor for the S24, but the chipset varies by region. Core counts and manufacturer specifications are not enough to establish which phone is faster; verify the exact regional S24 variant and consult independent tests relevant to your use.
Software and support
TECNO’s cited specification page lists HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Samsung’s cited source is launch material from 2024 and does not establish the S24’s current software-support status. Check each manufacturer’s current regional support information and confirm which software version and features ship on the exact handset you plan to buy.

RAM and storage
Samsung lists 8GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage options, subject to regional variation. TECNO lists 256GB storage with advertised 16GB or 24GB RAM configurations, and 512GB with advertised 24GB RAM; some of that advertised RAM is extended or virtual, not physical memory equivalent to Samsung’s listed 8GB. Confirm the exact SKU and the physical-versus-extended memory breakdown before comparing.
What is the price difference?
There is no defensible single price difference without specifying the market and matching phone configurations. Prices depend on country, storage, seller, warranty, and whether a phone is new or refurbished. The third-party Gadgets Now comparison page showed ₹49,999 for each phone in one search-result snapshot; a separate 512GB comparison snapshot showed ₹51,999 for the S24 and ₹54,999 for the POVA. These are not verified live listings or necessarily like-for-like offers, so they should not be treated as current prices.

To find a meaningful local difference, compare listings for the same storage capacity and condition, and check the seller type and warranty. Record the country, currency, and date you check: unlike specifications, retail prices can change quickly.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if you prioritize a larger display, a higher listed refresh rate, and greater battery capacity.
- Consider the Samsung Galaxy S24 5G if a smaller screen or a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera better fits your priorities.
- Compare the exact variants before buying if performance, software support, RAM, or price is decisive. Regional chipsets, configurations, warranty terms, and current offers need to be checked for the handset you can actually purchase.
These are choices based on manufacturer-listed specifications. No independent head-to-head battery, camera, performance, or durability results establish an overall real-world winner.
