On the official India specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S24 5G is the smaller, lighter phone and the one with a published long-term software commitment. The OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini 5G has a much larger battery, higher listed wired charging, more high-resolution rear cameras and a lower launch price. That price gap is real on paper, but it compares a 2024 Samsung launch with a 2026 OPPO launch, so it is not a like-for-like difference in today’s market.
This comparison is based on manufacturer-published specifications and launch announcements for the Indian market. It does not include hands-on testing, so camera quality, screen brightness and battery endurance are not measured here.

Sources for these figures are the Samsung India and OPPO India specification pages and the two companies’ India launch announcements. The launch prices are announced prices at launch, not a survey of current shelf prices.
Size and handling
By the manufacturers’ own dimensions, the S24 is narrower by about 1.6 mm, shorter by about 4 mm, thinner by about 0.4 to 0.5 mm and lighter by roughly 20 g. The “Mini” in the OPPO name describes its place in the Reno15 lineup, not its size relative to the S24. For one-handed use and pockets, the Samsung is the easier phone to carry, though the gap is modest rather than dramatic.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
Display
Both phones use an FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz maximum refresh rate. The two makers measure screen size differently, so the inch figures should not be subtracted from each other. OPPO’s higher pixel count (2640 × 1216, 460 ppi) is a different panel resolution from Samsung’s 2340 × 1080, and a higher pixel count does not by itself make a screen look sharper or brighter in use.
Cameras
The camera lists are the most different part of this comparison. The S24 has three rear cameras, with a 3x optical telephoto. The Reno15 Pro Mini has three rear cameras with a 200MP main sensor, two of which use optical image stabilisation, and it claims up to 3.5x optical zoom for video. OPPO’s front camera is 50MP against Samsung’s 12MP.
Megapixel counts describe sensor resolution, not photo quality. Colour rendering, low-light performance, dynamic range and stabilisation in motion depend on the processing and on how each phone is tuned, and the specification pages do not settle those points. To judge the cameras, look for side-by-side sample photos from the same scenes, taken by an independent reviewer.

- US Model. Compatible with Most GSM and CDMA Carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, MetroPCS, etc. Will Also work with CDMA Carriers Such as Verizon, Straight Talk.
Battery and charging
The OPPO has the larger battery by its listed figures: 6200mAh typical against Samsung’s 4000mAh typical. OPPO also lists up to 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging. The sources reviewed do not list an equivalent wired wattage for the S24, so the charging comparison is one-sided.
Capacity does not translate directly into runtime. Samsung’s product page claims up to 28 hours of video playback, with the caveat that real use depends on network, settings, format, brightness and battery condition. No matched runtime test of the two phones was found in the sources reviewed, so neither claim can be checked against the other.
Software support
Samsung’s India launch announcement in January 2024 states seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the Galaxy S24 series. That is the most concrete support commitment in this comparison. OPPO’s specification page lists ColorOS 16.0 but does not state an equivalent support period, so a ColorOS version number should not be read as a promise of future updates.
Rank #3
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
Connectivity and what is in the box
- NFC: The S24 lists NFC. The Reno15 Pro Mini’s India specification page says NFC is not supported, which matters for contactless payments and transit cards that rely on the phone’s NFC chip.
- Charger: OPPO’s India page says a charger is included. Samsung says the S24 box does not include a travel adapter.
- Wireless: OPPO lists Wi-Fi 6. The S24 page lists 5G bands and USB-C, which both phones also list.
Box contents can vary by market and sales channel, so confirm them with the seller before buying.
Price difference: what the numbers show and what they do not
At launch, the Reno15 Pro Mini cost ₹20,000 less than the S24 in the 256GB variant (₹59,999 against ₹79,999) and ₹25,000 less in the 512GB variant (₹64,999 against ₹89,999). Those gaps are not a fair measure of today’s difference, for three reasons:
- The two prices are from different years: January 2024 for the S24 and January 2026 for the Reno15 Pro Mini.
- The RAM differs. The S24 variants are 8GB, and the Reno15 Pro Mini variants are 12GB.
- Retail prices change with discounts, bank offers, exchange deals and stock. On 7 October 2026, OPPO’s India store page showed the Reno15 Pro Mini “From ₹59,999” with ₹64,999 struck through. That is a page offer that can change, not a market-wide price.
The Galaxy S24’s current selling price was not verified for this comparison, so no present-day price gap is stated. Check the S24 on Samsung’s India store and major retailers on the day you buy.

- Width: 2.78 inches; Length: 5.79 inches; Height: 0.30 inches
OPPO said at launch that Reno15 series sales would run through Amazon, Flipkart, retail outlets and OPPO’s e-store. Check listings for the exact variant, seller and warranty before you buy.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the Galaxy S24 if you want the smaller, lighter phone, NFC, and a documented seven-year update commitment, and you are comfortable with a smaller battery and a 2024 launch.
- Choose the Reno15 Pro Mini if battery capacity, fast wired charging, a 50MP front camera and the higher RAM matter more to you, and you do not need NFC.
Before you buy
- Confirm the exact variant (RAM and storage) and the price on the day of purchase.
- Check whether the seller is authorised and whether the warranty is India-valid.
- If you need NFC for payments, confirm it on the phone’s settings before relying on it.
- If you plan to use the phone’s maximum charging speed, buy a charger that supports the listed standard. A generic adapter will not deliver either phone’s top advertised speed.
Regional versions can differ, so use the India figures above only for India-market units.
