The Samsung Galaxy M56 5G and Nothing Phone (3a) share a 120Hz AMOLED-class display and a 5,000mAh battery, but their camera systems and documented software support differ. For price, compare live checkout prices for the same RAM and storage: Samsung’s published M56 figures are 2025 launch prices with a bank-discount condition, while the available Phone (3a) figure is a dated retailer snapshot.
India price difference: compare matching configurations at checkout
A verified current price gap cannot be stated from the available figures: Samsung’s M56 prices are historical launch offers, and no current M56 price was established. The Phone (3a) figure is a retailer snapshot, not a guaranteed offer.
| Phone and configuration | Published price | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy M56 5G, 8GB + 128GB | ₹24,999 | Samsung’s India launch price announced 17 April 2025, including a ₹3,000 instant bank discount; not a verified current price. Samsung Newsroom India |
| Samsung Galaxy M56 5G, 8GB + 256GB | ₹27,999 | Samsung’s India launch price announced 17 April 2025, including a ₹3,000 instant bank discount; not a verified current price. Samsung Newsroom India |
| Nothing Phone (3a), 8GB + 128GB | ₹24,999 | Gadgets 360 listed this as the starting price and lowest Amazon price on 4 October 2026. Retail prices and availability can change. Gadgets 360 India price listing |
| Nothing Phone (3a), 8GB + 256GB | Not stated | The listing includes this configuration, but the cited snapshot does not establish a comparable price here. Gadgets 360 India price listing |
For a useful comparison, check the same storage tier on the same day, confirm the seller and stock, and include any bank offer only if you qualify. Nothing’s indexed India launch information said Flipkart sales were due to begin 11 March 2025, but the release document itself was unavailable to verify, so treat that as lower-confidence launch context. Samsung’s specifications and support terms are from its India launch announcement and India product page. Nothing’s hardware details are from its manufacturer product page; the India-specific front-camera and size figures come from Gadgets 360. Which camera setup better suits your photos?
Choose the Phone (3a) for a dedicated telephoto camera
Nothing lists a 50MP telephoto camera alongside its OIS-equipped 50MP main camera and 8MP ultra-wide. That gives the Phone (3a) a distinct camera role for zoom compared with the M56’s listed macro camera. The megapixel counts and lens list alone do not establish which phone takes better photos; no directly comparable camera test is available here.
Choose the M56 if a macro camera matters more
Samsung lists a 2MP macro camera with the 50MP OIS main and 8MP ultra-wide cameras. Its launch announcement also describes HDR and 4K 30fps 10-bit HDR recording on the 12MP front camera. Consider these listed features rather than assuming overall image quality from specifications alone.

Which phone is easier to carry?
On the stated dimensions, the M56 is thinner and lighter: Samsung lists it at 7.2mm and 180g, while the secondary India listing gives the Phone (3a) as 8.35mm and 201g. The Nothing listing also makes it slightly taller and wider. Those measurements can help narrow a choice, but they do not establish hand comfort; try the phones in person if weight or grip is a priority.

Charging and battery: account for the charger
Both cited specifications list 5,000mAh batteries. Nothing lists 50W charging, versus Samsung’s 45W. Samsung states that the charger is sold separately, so include the cost of a compatible charger if you need to buy one for fast charging. The figures describe rated specifications, not a comparable battery-life or charging-time test.

Software support: Samsung states a defined commitment
Samsung promises six Android-generation upgrades and six years of security updates for the M56, and its product page gives 31 December 2030 as the security-update validity date. This is a manufacturer commitment, not a claim that every future update has already been delivered. The Nothing product page reviewed identifies Nothing OS 3 but does not provide an India-specific update schedule in the available product information. Do not infer that the policies are equivalent—or that Nothing has no policy—from that absence.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose between the Galaxy M56 and Phone (3a)
- Start with your actual price: compare the same RAM and storage tier at checkout, and account for eligible bank discounts and charger cost.
- Prioritize camera role: the Phone (3a) lists a telephoto camera; the M56 lists a macro camera. Neither camera list proves superior photo quality.
- Consider carrying weight: the listed M56 is lighter and thinner; assess the feel yourself if ergonomics are decisive.
- Value documented support: Samsung provides a stated upgrade and security-update commitment. The accessed Nothing product material does not specify a regional commitment.
- Do not choose on chipset names alone: both processors are listed as 4nm, but no comparable independent performance benchmark was established for this matchup.
Samsung described the M56 at launch as “a powerful blend of style, durability, and performance like never before.” That is Samsung India MX Business Director Akshay S. Rao’s promotional launch statement, not an independent test result. Samsung Newsroom India, 17 April 2025
