The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G and vivo T5x 5G make different trade-offs: the M36 has a 120Hz Super AMOLED display and Samsung’s stated six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security-update commitment, while the T5x has a larger battery and higher-wattage charging on paper. Neither specification sheet establishes which phone lasts longer, takes better photos, or performs better in everyday use. For price, compare the same RAM and storage variant and check current listings; Samsung’s figures below are launch prices, not current quotes.
Samsung Galaxy M36 vs vivo T5x: specifications at a glance

These are manufacturer-published specifications and claims, not results from a side-by-side test. The chip names alone do not establish a real-world performance winner. Likewise, camera counts and advertised video capabilities do not show which phone produces better photos or footage.
How the display and design trade-offs differ
Samsung Galaxy M36: Super AMOLED and 120Hz
Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. That gives the M36 a clear specification advantage if you specifically want AMOLED and a high refresh rate.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsvivo T5x: a slightly larger LCD
The T5x has a 6.76-inch LCD with a 2344 × 1080 resolution. Its screen is slightly larger by the stated diagonal measurement, but the panel type differs from Samsung’s. Brightness, outdoor legibility, and the overall viewing experience require consistent testing; the listed specifications alone do not establish those outcomes.

Which phone has the better battery?
The vivo T5x has the larger stated battery capacity: 7,200mAh and 44W charging, compared with the Galaxy M36’s 5,000mAh and 25W. That is a specification advantage for the T5x in both capacity and advertised charging wattage.
Capacity does not prove longer runtime, and wattage does not determine actual charging time by itself. Screen use, network conditions, software, charging behavior, and other factors affect results. No comparable battery test is established here, so treat these figures as hardware specifications rather than a measured endurance or charging-time verdict.

Which phone has the better camera?
The M36 pairs a 50MP OIS rear camera with a triple-camera setup and a 13MP front camera. The T5x lists a 50MP Sony IMX852 main rear camera, a 2MP bokeh camera, and a 32MP front camera. Both manufacturers list front and rear 4K video recording.
Those details describe different camera hardware, not overall image quality. Megapixel counts do not settle sharpness, color, stabilization, low-light results, or video quality. A camera winner would require comparable photo and video samples captured under the same conditions.

Software versions and update commitments
Samsung’s 30 June 2025 India launch announcement said the M36 would receive six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates. It was announced with One UI 7. That is a specific support commitment; confirm the current software version and support details for the particular unit and market when buying.
vivo’s current official T5x product page lists OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The available information does not establish a matching duration for Android upgrades or security updates, so do not assume one from the version number alone.
