There is no dependable price winner: the latest cited listings are dated snapshots, and the phones’ live prices, stock and configurations can change. The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G is the stronger fit if long software support and a documented multi-camera system matter most. Consider the Lava Virat Curve 5G if its listed larger battery, faster charging or curved AMOLED presentation is more important. Compare the exact memory variant and checkout price before deciding.
Samsung Galaxy M36 vs Lava Virat Curve 5G: price difference
The available prices are not a like-for-like, guaranteed current comparison. On 7 October 2026, Gadgets 360 listed the Lava Virat Curve 5G with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at ₹23,999. 91mobiles showed the same Lava configuration at ₹23,999 but marked it out of stock; it listed the Galaxy M36 at ₹21,999 on Amazon, without establishing a matching M36 configuration in the cited snapshot. Check the current seller listing for the exact variant, stock, offers and final checkout price.
Samsung’s announced introductory prices, from its 30 June 2025 launch announcement, were ₹16,499 for 6GB/128GB (including a stated ₹1,000 instant bank discount), ₹17,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₹20,999 for 8GB/256GB. Sales were announced to begin on 12 July 2025 through Samsung.com, Amazon and select retail stores. These were launch terms, not current price quotes. Samsung’s launch announcement, the Gadgets 360 Lava listing and 91mobiles’ comparison listing show why dates, stock and memory configurations matter.

What the specifications mean in everyday use
| Decision point | Samsung Galaxy M36 5G | Lava Virat Curve 5G | Practical takeaway |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display at 120Hz. | Third-party listings differ: Gadgets 360 reports a 6.75-inch FHD+ 120Hz display; 91mobiles lists a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen. | Both are listed with high-refresh AMOLED-class displays. Lava’s stated screen size is inconsistent between these sources, so do not choose on a precise size claim without checking official product information. Gadgets 360; 91mobiles. |
| Rear cameras | Samsung specifies a 50MP OIS main camera, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. | Third-party listings report a single 50MP rear camera. | The M36 has the more versatile documented rear-camera selection. Megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better photos. Samsung; Gadgets 360. |
| Front camera and video | Samsung lists a 13MP front camera and 4K video recording on both front and rear cameras. | The comparison listings specify a 13MP front camera; they do not establish equivalent video capability. | Samsung’s cited video specifications are more specific. The available listings do not prove that Lava lacks a particular video feature. Samsung; 91mobiles. |
| Processor | Exynos 1380, manufactured on a 5nm process, according to Samsung; the comparison listing gives a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz. | Third-party listings identify a MediaTek Dimensity 7100; the comparison listing gives a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz. | Matching listed clock speeds do not establish equal performance, and the available sources do not provide a reliable same-method test to name a speed winner. Samsung; 91mobiles. |
| Battery and charging | Samsung specifies a 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging. | Third-party listings report a 6,000mAh battery and 45W charging. | Lava has the larger stated capacity and higher stated charging rate. Capacity does not guarantee longer runtime; actual battery life depends on usage and test conditions. Samsung; 91mobiles. |
| Software support | Samsung promises six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates. The phone launched with One UI 7. | 91mobiles reports two years of OS updates and three years of security updates; an official Lava policy was not established in the cited material. | The documented support commitment favors Samsung. Treat Lava’s reported duration as a third-party listing and verify it with Lava before relying on it. Samsung; 91mobiles. |
| Build and protection | Samsung says the phone has Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and a 7.7mm body. | Gadgets 360 reports a polycarbonate body and IP64 rating. | These are different kinds of claims, not directly comparable measures of overall durability. Samsung; Gadgets 360. |
| Memory configurations in cited launch/listing details | Samsung announced 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB versions. | The reviewed Lava listing reports 6GB/128GB. | Compare prices only after confirming the RAM and storage on each seller’s current listing. Samsung; Gadgets 360. |
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G if support and camera options lead
- You want the manufacturer-announced commitment of six Android generations and six years of security updates.
- You value a documented OIS triple rear-camera setup with an ultrawide and macro camera, or Samsung’s stated 4K recording on the front and rear cameras.
- You prefer Samsung’s officially specified 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
Consider the Lava Virat Curve 5G if battery and charging matter more
- You prioritize the 6,000mAh battery and 45W charging reported by third-party listings over Samsung’s stated 5,000mAh and 25W.
- You want the curved AMOLED presentation described in listings, while recognizing that the listed screen dimensions conflict.
- You are considering its Android 16 listing, but want to verify the software version and update policy directly with Lava before buying.
Neither the processor clock speeds nor the cited specifications settle real-world performance or battery life. Choose based on the features you will use, then compare the live price for the same memory configuration.
