The Infinix GT 30 5G+ has the more gaming-focused spec sheet: a 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 144 Hz refresh, a Dimensity 7400 chip, and a 5,500 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G stands out for its stated six generations of Android upgrades, six years of security updates, and a main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Neither is an automatic winner: choose by the features you value, then compare the same storage variant at current prices and check stock.
Samsung Galaxy M36 vs Infinix GT 30: key specs
| Feature | Samsung Galaxy M36 5G | Infinix GT 30 5G+ (India) | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120 Hz | 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED, up to 144 Hz | GT 30 lists higher resolution and refresh rate; Samsung specifies Super AMOLED. |
| Chipset | 5 nm Exynos 1380 | 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 | GT 30 is positioned around gaming specifications. These specs alone do not establish which phone is faster in every real-world task. |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP; OIS on the main camera | 64 MP Sony dual-camera system | M36 specifies stabilization and a triple-camera layout. Megapixel counts do not determine overall photo quality. |
| Front camera and video | 13 MP front; Samsung says 4K recording is available on the front and rear cameras | Infinix’s official product FAQ lists 4K video recording | The listed claims do not establish identical recording modes. Check the exact variant’s specifications if a particular mode matters. |
| Battery and charging | 5,000 mAh; 25 W fast charging | 5,500 mAh; 45 W wired charging; 10 W reverse charging | GT 30 lists greater capacity and charging wattage; neither figure guarantees longer battery life. |
| Software | Samsung announced six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates | XOS 15 based on Android 15; no comparable multi-year duration was established on the reviewed official Infinix pages | M36 has the clearer documented long-term update commitment. |
| Storage configurations | 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256 GB at launch | 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB listed | Compare prices for matching storage where possible. |
Which phone is better for gaming?
The GT 30 5G+ is the more gaming-oriented choice on paper. Its display is listed at up to 144 Hz, versus 120 Hz on the M36, and it has a higher-resolution 1.5K panel. Infinix also highlights shoulder triggers on its product page. These features may appeal to people who play games that support higher refresh rates or benefit from trigger controls.
The chip specifications also differ: the GT 30 uses a 4 nm Dimensity 7400, while the M36 uses a 5 nm Exynos 1380. That comparison does not by itself prove a consistent performance advantage. Actual frame rates and sustained performance can depend on the game, settings, software, temperature, and testing conditions.

The M36 has a specified 50 MP main camera with OIS in a 50 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP rear-camera system. OIS is a concrete advantage for reducing the effect of hand movement in supported shooting situations. Samsung’s launch announcement also says the phone supports 4K recording on its front and rear cameras.

Samsung’s India launch announcement promises six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the M36. The reviewed official Infinix India pages identify the GT 30’s software as XOS 15 based on Android 15, but do not establish an equivalent update duration.
