The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G was listed at ₹21,999 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999 in the retrieved comparison snapshot—a ₹6,000 difference. Xiaomi’s own store listing shows ₹27,999 for the Redmi’s Arctic Blue 6GB/128GB variant. These are dated price observations, not guaranteed live offers; check the seller and exact configuration before buying. The available specifications do not establish a universal winner, especially because third-party sources disagree on several Redmi details.
Price difference and configurations
The observed comparison snapshot puts the Redmi ₹6,000 above the Galaxy M36. Xiaomi’s store separately lists the Redmi Note 17 5G Arctic Blue with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at ₹27,999. The comparison pages do not establish that the M36 price is for a matching memory configuration or identify a verified seller for that price, so treat the gap as a snapshot rather than a like-for-like quote.
| Phone | Observed price | Configuration and source |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy M36 5G | ₹21,999 | Comparison-page price snapshot; configuration and seller not stated. 91mobiles comparison |
| Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 5G | ₹27,999 | Arctic Blue, 6GB RAM/128GB storage, Xiaomi India store listing. Xiaomi India store |
Prices, discounts, and stock can change. Check the live listing and seller, and compare the same RAM and storage tier before deciding that one costs more by a particular amount.
What the available specifications indicate
Display
Secondary comparison pages describe the M36 as having a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Redmi is described by comparison sources as having an OLED screen around 7 inches. The supplied sources do not provide manufacturer specification pages confirming these details for both exact India models, so regard the Redmi size and the reported refresh and resolution figures as aggregator-reported, not independently established here.

Carrier compatibility is not guaranteed in all areas of the United States. Please verify compatibility with your carrier prior to purchase. Performance
Comparison pages identify the M36’s processor as Samsung Exynos 1380 and the Redmi’s as Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. Those chipset names provide a useful starting point, but the sources do not give a sufficiently documented, controlled head-to-head test to establish which phone performs better in everyday use, gaming, or sustained workloads.
Rear cameras
Comparison tables report a 50MP, 8MP, and 2MP rear-camera array for the M36. Redmi camera details vary between sources. Sensor megapixel counts alone do not show image quality, and the available information does not establish a reliable camera winner.

Battery and charging
Third-party Redmi listings conflict: some report an 8,000mAh battery, and at least one reports 45W charging, while other listing and comparison details differ. Without manufacturer documentation for the exact India model, those figures should not be treated as settled specifications or used to claim that the Redmi lasts longer or charges faster.

Software support
Comparison pages also differ on Android versions and update periods. Because software version and support commitments can change by region and model, verify the current India-specific manufacturer commitment for each phone before treating support duration as a buying advantage.

Which phone makes more sense for you?
- Consider the Galaxy M36 if the observed lower price matters most and you value the reported 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel and Exynos 1380 platform. Confirm the live price, exact RAM/storage configuration, and Samsung’s current India specifications before purchase.
- Consider the Redmi Note 17 5G if its roughly 7-inch OLED display as described by secondary sources appeals to you and you are comfortable checking the exact variant and current price. Its Xiaomi store listing establishes a 6GB/128GB Arctic Blue configuration at the observed price, but it does not confirm the disputed battery, charging, and camera claims.
- Wait to compare further if battery endurance, charging speed, camera results, or update commitment is decisive. The sources available here do not settle those points with consistent manufacturer-backed information or controlled testing.
How to verify before buying
- Open the seller’s live product page and check that the model is the India-market Galaxy M36 5G or Redmi Note 17 5G, not a similarly named or imported variant.
- Match RAM and storage capacities between the two listings. The confirmed Xiaomi store entry cited here is 6GB/128GB Arctic Blue; the M36 comparison price’s configuration is not stated.
- Check the seller, final checkout price, delivery availability, and any discount conditions. The cited prices are observations, not guaranteed current deals.
- For battery, charging, camera, and software support, rely on current manufacturer documentation for the exact regional model rather than treating conflicting comparison-table entries as confirmed.
