The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G and Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G suit different priorities: the M36 pairs a Super AMOLED display, a published OIS triple-camera setup and a longer stated update policy, while the Redmi offers a larger, faster-refresh LCD and a higher-capacity battery. There is no reliable like-for-like current price difference in the available figures, so compare the same RAM and storage configuration at checkout.

Which display is better for you?
Choose the M36 for AMOLED
The M36’s 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel uses a different display technology from the Redmi’s LCD. If you value AMOLED specifically, that is the clearest display-based reason to lean Samsung. Its listed refresh rate is 120Hz, and Samsung also names Vision Booster.

Choose the Redmi for size and maximum refresh rate
The Redmi’s 6.9-inch LCD gives you a larger listed screen and a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. Xiaomi notes adaptive sync is limited to some apps, so the maximum figure does not mean every app or situation will run at that rate. A higher refresh-rate specification alone does not establish that the phone will feel smoother in every task.

Camera differences: OIS and lens count matter more than the 50MP headline
Both manufacturers list a 50MP rear-camera headline, but that number does not make the camera systems equivalent. Samsung specifies OIS and a triple rear-camera setup for the M36; Xiaomi describes the Redmi 15 5G as having a 50MP AI dual rear camera. The published specifications therefore give the M36 the clearer paper advantage if optical stabilization is a priority. They do not establish overall photo quality, since megapixel count and stabilization alone cannot determine results across scenes.
The M36 also has a higher-resolution listed front camera, 13MP versus 8MP, and Samsung specifies 4K recording on both front and rear cameras. Xiaomi’s cited specification listing does not state an equivalent 4K recording detail for the Redmi.

Battery capacity, charging and what comes in the box
Xiaomi lists a 7,000mAh typical battery and 33W charging for the Redmi; Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery, a 4,905mAh rated minimum, and 25W charging support for the M36. The larger capacity is a meaningful specification advantage for the Redmi, but capacity by itself cannot predict how many hours either phone will last: actual runtime depends on use and network conditions.

Software support: Samsung states a longer policy
Samsung states six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the M36. It qualifies this as its current plan rather than a commitment. Xiaomi lists two years of OS updates and four years of security updates for the Redmi 15 5G. On the manufacturers’ stated policies, the M36 offers the longer support horizon; check each manufacturer’s terms for any later changes.

India prices: launch figures are not today’s price difference
Samsung announced the M36’s introductory India prices on 30 June 2025. The first price below includes the ₹1,000 instant bank discount stated in Samsung’s announcement; the other two are the announced variant prices. These are historical launch figures, not current checkout quotes.

A 91mobiles comparison page displayed ₹21,999 for the M36 and ₹21,499 for the Redmi 15 in its observed listing, but the date and matching storage configurations are not established. Those figures do not support a dependable current price difference. 91mobiles comparison page.
For a current comparison, check retailer listings for the same RAM/storage tier on both phones and note the date, seller, bank or card offers, and final checkout price. The Redmi 15 5G configurations listed by Xiaomi India are 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB; do not compare a price for one tier against a different tier and call it a model-to-model price gap. Samsung said M36 sales were to begin on 12 July 2025 through Samsung.com, Amazon and select retail stores, but availability and prices can change. Samsung’s launch announcement.
Which phone should you choose?
- Pick the Galaxy M36 5G on paper if Super AMOLED, a manufacturer-published OIS triple rear-camera system, 4K front and rear recording, or the longer stated update policy matter most to you.
- Pick the Redmi 15 5G on paper if you want a larger display, a higher maximum refresh-rate specification, a higher typical battery capacity, or an included charging adapter.
- Use price as the tie-breaker only after checking like for like. Compare the same memory tier and actual checkout offers; the dated launch prices and unmatched third-party snapshot do not establish today’s difference.
For either phone, treat these recommendations as comparisons of published specifications, not hands-on judgments about screen quality, camera output, speed or real-world endurance.
