At the prices cited here, the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G costs less, while the vivo T5x 5G lists stronger specifications for display resolution, battery capacity, charging power and front-camera resolution. The closest like-for-like price comparison is between their 6GB/128GB models: ₹15,499 for the M17e at Samsung’s announced India launch price and ₹27,999 for the T5x on vivo India’s store listing checked on 4 October 2026—a difference of ₹12,500. Those prices use different bases and may change.
Samsung Galaxy M17e vs vivo T5x: price difference in India
Samsung announced these M17e 5G India launch prices on 18 March 2026, with sales scheduled to start on 20 March through Samsung.com, Amazon and selected retail stores. The vivo price is the amount shown on its India e-store listing when checked on 4 October 2026.

On the 6GB/128GB configurations, the vivo listing is ₹12,500 above Samsung’s announced launch price. This is not a like-for-like snapshot of current selling prices: one figure is a launch price and the other is a dated store listing. Check both retailers for current prices, offers and stock before buying.

Which phone has the better display?
The T5x has the higher listed resolution: 2344 × 1080 on a 6.76-inch LCD, compared with the M17e’s 720 × 1600 HD+ resolution on a 6.7-inch-class PLS LCD. Both manufacturers list refresh rates of up to 120Hz. vivo also lists 1200-nit HBM for the T5x. These are specification differences, not a comparative assessment of brightness, colour, viewing angles or everyday smoothness.

Which has the better battery and charging?
By stated capacity, the T5x leads with 7200mAh and up to 44W charging when used with vivo’s standard charger. Samsung lists the M17e battery at 6000mAh typical, but the reviewed specifications do not establish its charging wattage. Capacity and charging-power figures do not establish how long either phone lasts in everyday use or how quickly it charges; those outcomes depend on usage and testing conditions.
Do the cameras make one a better choice?
On paper, the T5x has a 32MP front camera, compared with 8MP on the M17e. Their listed rear setups are similar in headline layout: 50MP main and 2MP secondary cameras, with vivo identifying its T5x main sensor as Sony IMX852 and the secondary camera as bokeh. Megapixel counts and sensor names alone do not show which phone takes better photos or selfies; the specifications cited here do not establish comparative image quality.

Software support, storage and durability
Software updates
Samsung states that the M17e will receive six OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The vivo specifications page lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6 but does not give an equivalent support duration, so the available figures do not support a direct longevity comparison.
Storage flexibility
The M17e’s listed microSD support reaches up to 2TB, which may suit buyers who want removable storage; its SIM tray is hybrid, so SIM and memory-card arrangements are linked. The T5x offers a listed 8GB/256GB configuration, but vivo says ROM expansion is not supported.

Water resistance and weight
vivo lists IP68/IP69 for the T5x and cautions that resistance is not permanent and that the phone is not a professional waterproof device. Samsung describes the M17e as dust- and water-resistant, but the reviewed Samsung source does not establish an IP code to compare directly. The listed weights are 219g for the T5x and 199g for the M17e.

- Choose the M17e if price is the priority: its announced 6GB/128GB launch price is lower than the vivo store price cited here, and it lists microSD expansion plus a stated six-year security-update period.
- Consider the T5x if its listed hardware better fits your needs: it specifies a higher-resolution display, larger battery, faster maximum charging, higher-resolution front camera and an 8GB/256GB top configuration.
- Check network compatibility before ordering: the listed 5G bands differ, and these are India-market specifications. Confirm that the bands match your carrier and location.
Neither specification sheet establishes tested performance, battery endurance or camera superiority. The better fit depends on which stated features matter to you and the current price available for the configuration you want.
