The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G is the stronger fit if you need 5G, a 120 Hz display, expandable storage, or Samsung’s stated six-year software support. The realme P4 Lite (4G) has a larger rated battery and 15 W charging, but it does not support 5G. The available prices are not a like-for-like comparison: Samsung’s published figures are launch prices, while realme’s ₹16,499 figure is a sale listing with no exact variant established.

Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy M17e 5G for connectivity and longer stated support
- It supports 5G; the realme model compared here is 4G-only.
- Its display is specified for up to 120 Hz, compared with up to 90 Hz on the P4 Lite. A higher refresh-rate specification can make supported scrolling and animation appear smoother, but does not establish overall speed.
- Samsung publishes six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the phone’s first global launch. The cited realme specifications page does not give a comparable duration.
- It offers microSD expansion up to 2 TB and 4 GB or 6 GB RAM variants.
- The rear-camera specification is 50 MP main plus 2 MP depth, versus a single 13 MP camera on realme. Megapixel counts alone do not determine photo quality.
Consider the realme P4 Lite 4G for battery capacity and charging
- Its listed typical battery capacity is 6300 mAh, versus 6000 mAh typical for Samsung. Capacity figures alone do not establish which phone lasts longer in real-world use.
- realme specifies 15 W VOOC charging and 6 W reverse wired charging.
- Its display is slightly larger on paper at 6.74 inches, though both are HD+ at 720 × 1600.
- realme lists a protective case and screen-protection film in the box contents.
Both phones carry an IP54 rating. Neither should be treated as waterproof or suitable for immersion; follow each manufacturer’s handling guidance.

What is the price difference in India?
| Phone and price basis | Published amount | What the figure establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy M17e 5G, 4 GB/128 GB launch price | ₹13,999 | Samsung Newsroom India launch price in 2026; sales were announced to begin 20 March 2026. |
| Galaxy M17e 5G, 6 GB/128 GB launch price | ₹15,499 | Samsung Newsroom India launch price in 2026; not a verified current offer. |
| realme P4 Lite sale listing | ₹16,499 | realme India sale-page listing observed 4 October 2026; the extracted price does not establish the applicable RAM/storage variant or final checkout terms. |
These figures do not establish a current, like-for-like price gap: Samsung’s are launch prices, while realme’s is a promotional listing whose variant applicability is unclear. Samsung’s product page showed “Not for sale” when checked, so it did not provide a current checkout price. Compare the same day’s selling prices for the exact variants, and separate bank discounts, exchange offers, and other conditions from the listed amount. Check the model name before buying
realme also sells a separate realme P4 Lite 5G. Its 7000 mAh battery, 144 Hz display, Dimensity 6300, IP64 rating, and Android 16-based software belong to that 5G model, not the 4G P4 Lite discussed here. Confirm the full model name on the product listing and invoice. See realme’s P4 Lite 5G information.

What to verify before checkout
- Confirm whether the listing is the Galaxy M17e 5G or the realme P4 Lite 4G, not the P4 Lite 5G.

- Check the current seller, stock, warranty, and final price, including any conditions attached to discounts.
- Choose based on network needs: the P4 Lite 4G is not suitable if 5G connectivity is required.
