The Samsung Galaxy M17 5G is the better fit on paper if you want a sharper AMOLED display, optical image stabilization, expandable storage with a stated capacity limit, or Samsung’s stated software-upgrade plan. The OPPO K14x 5G instead lists a faster 120Hz refresh rate, a larger battery and charging up to 45W. A reliable current price gap is not established, so compare matching memory and storage variants at the same retailer before choosing on price.
Samsung Galaxy M17 vs OPPO K14x: specifications
This India-market comparison uses manufacturer specifications and launch information. It does not establish which phone performs better in everyday use: that would require comparable testing.

Which display is the better fit?
Choose the Galaxy M17 for panel type and resolution
Samsung lists a Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution. That gives the M17 the advantage in stated resolution and panel type. The higher resolution is relevant if fine detail and text clarity matter to you; AMOLED is the distinguishing panel technology in this comparison.
Choose the K14x for refresh rate
OPPO lists a maximum 120Hz refresh rate, compared with the M17’s maximum 90Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion look smoother, but the specification alone does not establish how smooth either phone feels in actual use. OPPO also lists a slightly larger screen diagonal, while its stated resolution is HD+ rather than FHD+.

Camera specifications: OIS versus resolution
The M17’s rear camera specification includes OIS (optical image stabilization), and its listed front camera has higher resolution than the K14x’s. The K14x has a 50MP main camera and a 2MP monochrome camera. These figures describe hardware, not photo quality: megapixel counts and camera features do not substitute for comparable image samples or testing.
Battery and charging: what OPPO publishes
OPPO specifies a 6500mAh typical capacity and a 6335mAh rated capacity for the K14x, with charging support up to 45W SUPERVOOC. OPPO’s India launch announcement reports up to 20.9 hours of screen-off calling, 17.6 hours of YouTube playback and 16.1 hours of Google Maps navigation. Those are manufacturer-reported results for named use cases, not independent measurements or a guarantee of typical battery life. The Samsung material used here does not provide a comparable battery or charging figure, so this comparison cannot quantify a capacity or charging gap.

Storage and software support
Storage flexibility
Samsung’s cited 6GB/128GB product page lists microSD expansion up to 2TB. OPPO says the K14x supports a storage card but does not state a maximum capacity on its cited specifications page. If expandable storage is important, check the exact phone variant and card compatibility before buying.

Update commitments
Samsung’s product page states that its current plans for the M17 include six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The two-year OS and three-year security figures reported for the K14x come from a third-party comparison page, not the official OPPO specifications cited here; they should not be treated as equally verified commitments.
