The Samsung Galaxy F06 5G and the vivo X300 FE are not close competitors. Samsung positioned the F06 5G as its most affordable 5G phone in India, and vivo’s X300 FE is built around a higher-end display, a telephoto camera, fast charging and larger memory options. On published specifications, the F06 5G is the budget choice and the X300 FE is the higher-spec phone. Neither is better in every respect, and there is no reliable current price difference to report, because the two prices come from different dates and different storage variants (see the price section below).
Specifications side by side
The table below uses the figures each manufacturer publishes. Samsung’s figures come from its February 2025 India launch announcement and its India product page. vivo’s come from its India parameter page and launch page. None of these figures are independent test results.

Where the hardware differs
Display
The two phones differ most clearly on the screen. The F06 5G has a larger-looking HD+ LCD with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. The X300 FE uses a smaller AMOLED panel at a higher resolution and a fixed 120Hz rate. Published specifications show the difference in panel type and sharpness, but they do not show brightness, colour accuracy or how smooth either screen feels in use. Judge those in person.

Processor
Samsung names the Dimensity 6300 in its launch announcement. vivo names the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 on its India specifications page. Those are different performance tiers. Neither manufacturer’s material includes an independent benchmark that compares the two chips in the same phones, so this article does not rank their speed. Samsung’s launch announcement also cites an AnTuTu score; it is a company claim with no published test method, so it is not used here.

Cameras
The X300 FE has a dedicated telephoto lens with optical image stabilisation, a hardware feature the F06 5G does not list. Its front camera also has a higher resolution. The F06 5G’s rear setup is a main camera with a 2MP depth sensor. Whether the telephoto lens produces better photos in everyday use depends on the scene and on processing, which the published specifications do not show.
Battery and charging
The X300 FE’s battery is listed at a larger typical capacity and charges at a much higher wattage than the F06 5G. Those are manufacturer figures. They do not establish how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in practice, and vivo’s “typical” capacity wording is worth noting when comparing battery sizes.

Memory and storage
Each brand has a different range of configurations, so the memory figures should be read as “what is sold,” not as a like-for-like comparison. The F06 5G was launched with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but Samsung’s India product page also lists a 4GB/64GB version, so the configuration you buy matters. vivo’s India pages list configurations with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Software and update support
Samsung’s launch announcement states that the Galaxy F06 5G gets four generations of OS upgrades and four years of security updates. This is Samsung’s published commitment, dated to the 2025 launch. It is not a check of which Android version your unit is running today or which security patch it has received. vivo’s parameter page lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6 for the X300 FE but does not, in the material reviewed, give a matched update period, so the two support policies cannot be compared on equal terms.

Price: what the figures do and do not show
The two price points come from different dates and different variants, so they do not give a current price difference.

A fair statement is this: Samsung launched the F06 5G in India at INR 9,499 for 4GB+128GB in February 2025, and vivo’s India store showed the X300 FE at ₹84,999 for 8GB+256GB when checked on 7 October 2026. Subtracting one from the other would compare a launch-period introductory price with a store listing from a different year, for different memory and storage. Look up current prices for the exact variants you are considering before drawing a conclusion.

Which phone fits which priority
- Lowest entry price with a published update commitment: the Galaxy F06 5G, if its launch-period price and Samsung’s four-OS and four-year security statement match what you need. Check the current price first.
- Higher-resolution AMOLED display at 120Hz: the vivo X300 FE.
- A telephoto lens and faster wired charging on paper: the vivo X300 FE.
- Larger memory and storage options: the vivo X300 FE, based on the configurations listed on its India store pages.
- Both phones weigh 191g, so weight will not separate them.
These are inferences from published specifications and displayed prices, not a test of real-world performance.

vivo says the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is compatible with the X300 FE and must be bought separately. It is not included with the phone. vivo’s launch page is the source for the compatibility statement; current Indian price and stock for the accessory were not confirmed for this article.

Checks before you buy
- Open the Samsung India page for the Galaxy F06 5G and confirm which RAM and storage combination is on sale.
- Open the vivo India product page for the X300 FE and confirm the exact configuration and the price shown for it.
- Compare the prices for the same memory and storage in each store on the day you buy, since launch prices and store listings change.
- If update support matters, check the Samsung and vivo software update pages for the specific model you are buying.
- If you plan to use the telephoto lens, buy the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 separately and confirm it is in stock.
