The Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy M47 5G share a 6.7-inch screen size, 50 MP main camera and Samsung’s stated six-year security-update support, but they are not a straightforward same-market price comparison. Samsung’s available listings place the M47 in India, while the A57 has a published US launch price. The M47 has the larger stated battery; the A57 has a 12 MP ultrawide camera and is lighter. Choose based on regional availability, configuration and current local pricing—not a claimed price gap assembled from different markets.

These are Samsung-published specifications, not independent test results. The A57 specifications and launch details are in Samsung’s global announcement; the M47 details come from Samsung India’s 8 GB/128 GB listing and 8 GB/256 GB listing.
Which screen and processor suit your use?
Display
Both phones have a 6.7-inch display. Samsung describes the A57 panel as Super AMOLED+; the India M47 listing specifies FHD+ Super AMOLED and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The available specifications do not establish that other panel characteristics are equivalent, so screen size alone is not enough to call the displays identical.

The A57 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1680, while the M47 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Chipset names identify the components, but they do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use. No comparable benchmark or independent performance test is available here.

How do the cameras compare?
The A57’s listed rear-camera set is 50 MP main, 12 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro. Samsung lists the M47’s rear cameras as 50 MP, 5 MP and 2 MP, without identifying the latter two camera roles in the cited specification details. Both have a 12 MP front camera.
The A57 therefore has a specifically listed ultrawide camera, which may matter if you often frame landscapes or groups in a wider view. Megapixel counts alone do not show how well either phone takes photos, and the available specifications do not establish comparative image quality or camera performance.

Does the M47 last longer on a charge?
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery for the A57 and a 6,000 mAh typical-capacity battery for the M47. Samsung gives the M47’s rated minimum as 5,882 mAh. That is a difference in published capacity, not proof that the M47 lasts a set number of hours longer: Samsung says actual battery life varies with network environment, usage patterns and other factors.

How long will Samsung support each phone?
Samsung states that the A57 gets up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, plus up to six years of security updates. Samsung India states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the M47, counted from its first global launch date. These are Samsung’s stated support policies, not guarantees of exact delivery dates for every update.
What do the phones cost, and is there a reliable price difference?
Samsung Newsroom US announced the A57 at a US launch price starting at $549.99, with US availability beginning April 9, 2026. That figure is a US launch price, not a current price for every configuration or market. See Samsung Newsroom US’s announcement.

Samsung India lists M47 configurations of 6 GB/128 GB, 8 GB/128 GB and 8 GB/256 GB, and shows a June 29, 2026 launch date. The cited pages do not establish a dependable current M47 selling price that can be compared with the A57 in the same market. A Samsung India M47 product page also reflects a captured purchase-page sale state that is not a reliable basis for a live price comparison.
So there is no substantiated numeric price difference to report from these figures. To compare prices at purchase time, match the country, RAM and storage tier, seller, date and treatment of discounts. Do not subtract an India listing from a US launch price.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the M47 if you are shopping in India and prioritize its larger stated battery capacity. Check the price of your exact RAM/storage configuration and remember that its fast charger is sold separately.
- Consider the A57 if its regional availability and local price work for you, and you value the specifically listed 12 MP ultrawide camera, slimmer body or lower published weight.
- Check before importing or buying across regions: Samsung says network bands and availability can vary by region. Confirm the exact model’s compatibility and local warranty before ordering.
Samsung announced the A57 on March 25, 2026; the India M47 listing gives June 29, 2026 as its launch date. Those dates and markets help explain why the available prices do not form a like-for-like comparison.
