The Motorola Edge 60 Pro has the stronger-looking hardware specification on paper: a higher-resolution display, a dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera, a larger listed battery, faster charging and higher listed water- and dust-resistance ratings. The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G’s clearest advantage is its longer software-support commitment on the cited UK product page. The better buy depends on your priorities and the current price of the exact regional model.
Samsung Galaxy A56 vs Motorola Edge 60 Pro: key differences
| Category | Samsung Galaxy A56 5G | Motorola Edge 60 Pro | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch Super AMOLED; 1080 × 2340; up to 120 Hz | 6.7-inch pOLED; 1220 × 2712; up to 120 Hz | Motorola lists the higher resolution. Resolution alone cannot establish overall panel quality. |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP main with OIS, 12 MP ultrawide, 5 MP third camera | 50 MP main with OIS, 50 MP ultrawide, 10 MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom and OIS | Motorola specifies a dedicated optical-zoom camera; the specs do not establish which phone takes better photos. |
| Battery and charging | 5,000 mAh typical capacity on Samsung’s India specification | 6,000 mAh on Motorola’s cited US and UK/EMEA specifications; US page lists 90 W wired and 15 W wireless charging | Motorola lists a larger battery and faster charging. Capacity and charging specifications are not independent endurance or charge-time tests. |
| Durability | IP67 on Samsung’s UK page | IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H on Motorola’s UK/EMEA page | These ratings are market-specific and do not guarantee protection from every accident or type of damage. |
| Software support | Six Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates on Samsung’s UK page | Three OS upgrades and four years of security maintenance releases on Motorola’s US page | The cited Samsung support commitment is longer, but the manufacturer pages refer to different markets. |
| Observed India listing price | ₹36,999 | ₹30,190 | 91mobiles surfaced these third-party prices; they are not verified current offers or necessarily equivalent configurations. |
Which phone has the better display?
Both phones have 6.7-inch displays with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Samsung specifies a 1080 × 2340 Super AMOLED panel, while Motorola specifies a 1220 × 2712 pOLED panel. Motorola therefore lists more pixels, but that alone does not show which screen looks better in everyday use: brightness, colour calibration, viewing conditions and other panel characteristics also matter. No hands-on display comparison is established here.
How do the cameras compare?
The clearest difference in the published camera specifications is the Edge 60 Pro’s dedicated 10 MP telephoto camera, which Motorola lists with 3× optical zoom and OIS. The A56 specification lists a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 12 MP ultrawide and a 5 MP third camera, but no telephoto lens.

Megapixel counts and lens specifications do not, by themselves, predict real-world image quality. There is no comparative camera test in the cited evidence, so choose on the basis of the camera types you want rather than assuming one phone produces better photos.

Battery capacity and charging: what the figures establish
Samsung lists a typical 5,000 mAh capacity for the Galaxy A56 on its India specification page. Motorola lists 6,000 mAh for the Edge 60 Pro on its US and UK/EMEA pages. The Motorola US page also specifies 90 W wired and 15 W wireless charging. These are manufacturer-listed figures, not measured battery life or charge times, and Motorola notes that specifications can vary by market. Check the local model and box contents before relying on a particular charging setup; charger availability may differ.
Durability and software support depend on the market
Samsung’s UK product page lists IP67 for the A56. Motorola’s UK/EMEA page lists IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H certification for the Edge 60 Pro. A rating is not a promise that a phone is waterproof or immune to damage. Read the instructions and applicable warranty terms for the exact model sold where you live.

Support figures also come from different regional pages: Samsung’s UK page states six Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, while Motorola’s US page states three OS upgrades and four years of security maintenance releases. This gives Samsung the longer stated support horizon in those sources, but it is not a matched-region comparison. Verify the commitment on the local product page for the specific SKU you are considering.
What is the price difference?
A 91mobiles comparison surfaced India listing prices of ₹36,999 for the Galaxy A56 and ₹30,190 for the Edge 60 Pro. Those third-party figures are observed listing prices, not guaranteed current prices, and the comparison does not establish that the offers match in memory configuration, seller conditions or availability. On those surfaced figures, the A56 is ₹6,809 higher; that arithmetic is not a reliable statement of today’s market price gap.
