The Galaxy A56 5G has the stronger listed hardware: an Exynos 1580 chip, 12MP ultrawide camera, 45W charging and IP67 water-and-dust resistance. The Galaxy A27 5G starts from a lower announced US price and shares the A56’s 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display class, 120Hz refresh-rate ceiling and 5,000mAh typical battery capacity. Samsung’s US launch-price baselines differ by $150, but that is not a current street-price comparison.

Specifications and configurations can vary by market and carrier. Where the A56 has an advantage
Camera specifications
The most notable listed rear-camera difference is the ultrawide: 12MP on the A56 versus 5MP on the A27. The A56 also lists a 5MP macro camera, compared with 2MP for the A27. Both have a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 12MP front camera. Resolution alone does not establish which phone takes better photos; Samsung’s specifications are not an independent camera test.
Charging and resistance ratings
The A56 is rated for 45W charging, while Samsung’s US A27 table lists 25W. Both have a 5,000mAh typical-capacity battery, but that shared figure does not establish equal battery life; usage and network conditions affect endurance. Samsung rates the A56 IP67 and the A27 IP64. These ratings reflect different protection levels and test conditions, not a promise that either phone is waterproof. Samsung describes the A56 rating as a freshwater submersion test up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes, and the A27 rating as a water-spray lab test; it advises against beach or pool use for both. Resistance can diminish with wear. Samsung’s US A27 product announcement gives the US specifications and its resistance guidance.

Display brightness and size
Both phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Samsung publishes an HBM peak-brightness figure of up to 1,200 nits for the A56; the A27 specification cited here does not state a comparable figure. That omission is not evidence that the A27 is dimmer in every condition.
Published US starting prices and the $150 difference
Samsung announced a US starting price of $499.99 for the A56 and $349.99 for the A27. The difference between those published starting-price baselines is $150. Samsung said US availability for the A27 began July 14, 2026; the A56 announcement said its US price would start at $499.99. These are launch announcements, not verified October 2026 selling prices or matching-storage offers. Samsung’s A27 US announcement and Samsung’s A56 US announcement state those baselines.

Software support and launch timing
Samsung lists up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates for the A56. For the A27, Samsung states up to six OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from its initial global launch. The wording and timing basis matter: the A27’s six-year security period is tied to that launch, not to the date an individual buyer purchases the phone. Samsung’s global A27 announcement is dated June 25, 2026, and says availability in select markets began July 3; US availability was announced for July 14. The A56 was announced March 2, 2025, with worldwide availability beginning March 28, subject to country, region and carrier. Features and availability may differ by market. Samsung’s global A27 announcement describes its support commitment and launch timing; Samsung’s A56 announcement describes its support commitment.
