The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G and the Motorola phone listed as “Edge 70 Pro Plus 5G” are not a clean, confirmed model-to-model match: Motorola’s official support page identifies its handset as the moto edge 70 pro. Check the exact name and regional listing before buying. On the available specifications, Motorola’s listed model has the faster-refresh display, larger battery and higher-wattage charging; Samsung’s A55 has a different rear-camera setup. A comparison page displayed ₹42,999 for Samsung and ₹47,920 for the Motorola entry, but those are price snapshots, not verified current offers.
First, confirm which Motorola model the listing means
The title “Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus 5G” appears in the comparison listing, but Motorola’s official support specification page is titled moto edge 70 pro. The sources reviewed do not establish that these labels refer to the same retail model or regional variant. Before comparing prices or placing an order, match the full model name, region and storage configuration shown on the retailer’s listing against the manufacturer’s product information.
Samsung’s official India page identifies the Galaxy A55 5G and notes that availability and configuration may vary by country, region or carrier. Its specifications are therefore useful for the India model, not proof that every market sells the same configuration: Samsung Galaxy A55 5G specifications.

What the differences mean in everyday use
Display: 120 Hz versus 144 Hz
Samsung specifies a 16.83 cm FHD+ Super AMOLED display with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Motorola’s official page lists a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with refresh rates up to 144 Hz. Those are maximum refresh-rate specifications; they do not establish how often a phone sustains the maximum in a particular app, or which display looks better. The manufacturers also describe screen size using different measurement conventions, so the values should not be treated as a direct like-for-like measurement.
Performance and memory
The comparison listing names Samsung’s Exynos 1480 with 8 GB RAM. Motorola’s official page names the Dimensity 8500 Extreme and gives 8 GB or 12 GB LPDDR5X memory options. These specifications establish the listed chips and memory choices, but the available sources contain no matched performance tests; they cannot show which phone is faster in games, multitasking or sustained workloads.

Camera configuration
Samsung’s India page lists a 50 MP, 12 MP and 5 MP rear-camera array and a 32 MP front camera. Motorola lists a 50 MP main camera, 50 MP ultrawide and 50 MP front camera. The resolution counts describe hardware, not image quality: they do not reveal how well either phone handles low light, motion, skin tones, stabilization or video. No independent camera comparison is established by these sources.
Battery capacity and charging
The comparison listing gives the A55 a 5,000 mAh battery and 25 W charging. Motorola’s official specification page lists a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery and 90 W wired charging. Capacity and charging wattage are not battery-life test results: actual endurance and charging time depend on conditions and the supplied charging setup, and the available sources do not provide comparable measurements.

Price difference: treat the displayed amounts as a snapshot
MySmartPrice displayed ₹42,999 for the Samsung Galaxy A55 and ₹47,920 for its Motorola comparison entry, a difference of ₹4,921 on that page when retrieved in 2026. These are not confirmed live offers or a durable price gap. The Motorola name mismatch also means the entry may not represent the exact model a buyer intends to compare.
For a meaningful India price check, compare the same storage configuration, seller conditions and availability on the day you buy. Start with the MySmartPrice comparison listing, then confirm the exact product name and final price on the retailer’s live listing. Do not assume the displayed amount is current or that two differently configured phones are price-matched.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Galaxy A55 5G if the exact India model and its 8 GB configuration meet your needs, and its current price is lower for the storage variant you want. The cited evidence supports Samsung’s display and camera specifications, while battery and charging details here come from a comparison listing.
- Consider the moto edge 70 pro if that is the Motorola model actually being sold in your market and you value the listed 144 Hz display, 6,500 mAh battery, 90 W charging or 12 GB memory option. Confirm the regional model and configuration because the title’s “Edge 70 Pro Plus 5G” name is not verified by Motorola’s official page used here.
- Do not choose on megapixels or chip names alone. The available source set does not provide matched camera, battery-life or performance tests, nor a manufacturer-source comparison of software-support duration for the exact regional models.
What to verify before ordering
- Read the retailer’s full Motorola model name and country-specific model details; check whether it matches the official moto edge 70 pro specifications rather than assuming “Pro Plus” is an identical name.
- Match storage and RAM variants. The Motorola support page lists 8 GB and 12 GB LPDDR5X options; a comparison across different memory or storage configurations can distort both price and value.
- Check current stock and the final seller price for both phones in the same market. The rupee figures above are a 2026 comparison-page snapshot, not a live quote.
- If software-update length matters to your purchase, consult current manufacturer support-policy information for the exact regional models. The sources used here do not establish a matched update-duration comparison.
