The OPPO Reno16c 5G has the more versatile listed camera hardware, a larger stated battery, faster listed charging and expandable storage. The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G stands out for its IP68 rating and a clearly stated software-support commitment. There is no reliable India price gap to quote from the available official figures: OPPO’s prices are for India, while the retrieved Samsung launch price is for Korea.
Check the market and exact model first
These specifications and prices are not all from the same region. OPPO identifies the India Reno16c 5G as model CPH2859 and notes that Reno16 family models and prices vary by country. See OPPO India’s Reno16c details and confirm the model and local listing before buying.
The A37 specifications cited below include Samsung’s Korea-market launch details. Samsung’s India product page lists an 8GB/256GB Graygreen model and cautions that features, specifications, prices and availability can vary by location. A Korean price or configuration should not be treated as an India price or specification.

Which phone has the better camera setup?
The Reno16c offers the clearer hardware advantage if you want a dedicated telephoto lens: OPPO lists a 50MP OIS telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom alongside its main and ultrawide cameras. Samsung’s cited Korea A37 specification lists a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro camera, with no telephoto module listed.
That is a difference in listed camera options, not proof that the Reno16c takes better photographs. No independent head-to-head image-quality tests are established here. The A37’s camera list may suit someone who values an ultrawide and macro option, while the Reno16c explicitly adds optical telephoto reach.

Battery capacity and charging
OPPO lists the Reno16c battery as 7,000mAh typical and 6,850mAh rated, with 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Samsung Korea lists the A37 at 5,000mAh; its cited Korea launch details do not state a charging rate.
Those capacities do not establish how long either phone lasts in everyday use. Actual runtime depends on factors such as screen settings, signal conditions, apps and workload, and no comparative battery test is available here.

Durability and software support
Galaxy A37: documented water resistance and updates
Samsung says the A37 is IP68-rated and supports up to six generations of OS/One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Samsung Korea qualifies its water-resistance claim as a laboratory test in freshwater up to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes, and says beach or pool use is not recommended. An IP rating should not be read as a guarantee against every kind of liquid exposure or damage.
Reno16c: support duration not established here
The cited OPPO India overview does not state a comparable software-support duration for the Reno16c. That omission does not establish that the phone receives no updates; it means a like-for-like support-period comparison cannot be made from these official details.

Storage flexibility
OPPO says the India Reno16c supports a storage card, which is useful if you want the option of adding local storage. Its cited overview does not identify the card format or maximum capacity, so check OPPO’s full specification or the exact retail package before choosing a card. The Samsung materials cited here do not establish whether the A37 supports expandable storage.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Reno16c if camera reach matters: its official specification lists a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera.

- Choose the Reno16c if you need expandable storage: OPPO confirms storage-card support, but verify the compatible format and capacity.
- Choose the A37 if documented durability and a published update commitment matter most: Samsung lists IP68 and up to six OS/One UI generations plus up to six years of security updates.
- Decide on price only after checking local, matching configurations: the official figures available here do not establish a same-market price gap.
