The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G is the stronger fit if you want a Super AMOLED display, an IP68 rating, a dedicated macro camera and longer stated software support. The Moto G Max offers a larger 7,000mAh battery, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headset jack and a 32MP selfie camera. Their screens are nearly the same size and both support 120Hz, but they use different panel technology. Price depends on market: Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $449.99, while the comparable India figures below are changeable Amazon listings, not a same-market U.S. comparison.

Motorola says specifications may vary by market, so check the version sold where you plan to buy. Manufacturer specifications establish the listed hardware and support commitments; they do not by themselves establish which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in everyday use.
Which phone has the better display?
The Galaxy A37 uses a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 120Hz. The Moto G Max has a nearly identical-size 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both therefore offer large, high-refresh-rate screens; the stated distinction is AMOLED versus LCD. The specification listings do not provide a directly comparable brightness or color-accuracy test, so those qualities cannot be ranked from these figures alone.
Which has the better battery and charging?
The Moto G Max has the larger rated battery: 7,000mAh, compared with the Galaxy A37’s 5,000mAh typical capacity. The A37 is listed with 45W charging in 91mobiles’ comparison, while Motorola specifies 30W TurboPower for the Moto G Max. Battery capacity does not guarantee longer real-world runtime, and charging wattage alone does not establish how quickly a full charge takes.

These are that publisher’s comparison figures; the test conditions are not independently confirmed here, and results from a benchmark should not be treated as a promise of everyday battery life.
How do their cameras compare?
The rear-camera setups share a listed 50MP main camera and 8MP ultrawide. Samsung also lists a 5MP macro camera on the A37, while Motorola’s Moto G Max specifications do not list a macro camera. For selfies, Motorola lists a 32MP front camera and Samsung a 12MP front camera. Megapixel counts describe image resolution, not overall image quality; no independent comparative camera test is established by the cited specifications.

Which phone is more water-resistant?
Samsung lists the Galaxy A37 as IP68, while Motorola specifies an IP64 water-resistant design for the Moto G Max. These are different ingress-protection classifications, not a guarantee that a phone is safe in every wet environment. Samsung’s U.K. product information describes its IP68 test as submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes and warns that resistance can diminish with wear; it does not recommend beach or pool use. That specific test description is from Samsung’s U.K. page, not a universal promise for all conditions.
