Choose the realme P4 Power 5G if your priorities are a much larger stated battery and a higher maximum display refresh rate. Choose the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G if you value a thinner, lighter phone and Samsung’s stated six-generation OS upgrade and six-year security update policy. Neither battery capacity nor camera specifications establish which phone performs better in everyday use, and the listed prices are snapshots rather than guaranteed checkout prices.

Which phone should you buy?
Choose the realme P4 Power for battery capacity and refresh rate
realme lists a 10,001 mAh typical battery (9,750 mAh rated), up to 80 W charging and a display refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Those are the more compelling specifications if you want a very large battery or prioritize a higher maximum refresh rate. Capacity is not a direct measure of screen-on time: usage, signal, brightness, software and other conditions affect runtime.
realme publishes battery-use figures attributed to realme Lab and says actual results may vary. They are manufacturer claims, not an independent head-to-head test against Samsung.
Choose the Galaxy A36 for a slimmer phone and documented support
Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A36. Samsung notes that its update policy may change and timing and availability can vary by model and market. By contrast, the realme specification page lists realme UI 7.0 but does not give an OS or security update duration. A third-party comparison lists three OS years and four security years for realme, but that duration is not confirmed by a realme policy source here.

The A36 is also listed at 195 g and 7.4 mm, compared with the P4 Power at 219 g and about 9.08 mm. If carrying comfort and a thinner profile matter more than battery capacity, those figures favor Samsung.
Battery and charging: what the numbers establish
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery and separately gives 4,905 mAh as rated/minimum. realme lists 10,001 mAh typical and 9,750 mAh rated. The P4 Power therefore has about twice the listed typical capacity, but no matched independent runtime test establishes how much longer it lasts in comparable use.

Samsung says its Galaxy A36 can deliver “up to 29 hours” of video playback. Samsung attributes that estimate to UX Connect Research testing in the UK on prerelease devices under specified LTE and 5G Sub6 conditions, and cautions that actual battery life varies. This vendor figure is not directly comparable with realme’s lab figures because the test descriptions are not a shared protocol.
For charging, Samsung lists support up to 45 W and explicitly says, “The Wall Charger for Super Fast Charging (45 W) sold separately.” realme lists up to 80 W Ultra Charge. Check the exact phone package and compatible charger before buying: realme says box contents can vary by market, and accessories are not necessarily identical across regional listings.

Display and cameras: compare hardware, not assumed image quality
The Galaxy A36 has a 6.7-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate; Samsung cites up to 1,200 nits. realme lists a 6.8-inch-class AMOLED screen with 1280 × 2800 resolution and refresh rates up to 144 Hz. These are stated specifications, not a substitute for seeing the screens side by side under the conditions in which you use a phone.
Both phones are listed with a 50 MP main rear camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. The A36 adds a 5 MP macro camera in comparison/specification listings. realme’s official page specifies 2-axis OIS on its main camera and 4K recording at 30 fps from the rear camera. Samsung lists a 12 MP front camera with video HDR; realme lists a 16 MP front camera and 1080p front video at 30 fps. None of these details alone proves which phone takes better photos: processing, exposure, focus, motion and lighting matter, and no comparative camera test is established here.

Price difference in India: treat listings as snapshots
Prices observed on comparison sites differ, so there is no single fixed price gap established by these listings. 91mobiles displayed ₹25,999 for the Galaxy A36 and ₹29,999 for the P4 Power in a seller-linked snapshot accessed October 7, 2026. Smartprix displayed ₹27,362 and ₹31,365, respectively; its page says it was updated October 2, 2026. The observed gap is about ₹4,000 in each snapshot, but these figures do not establish a live checkout price, a particular sale, or matching storage configurations.

Check these details before ordering
- Confirm the exact variant and market. Availability, memory/storage configurations, supported 5G bands, NFC support, packaging and prices can differ by region.
- Verify seller and final price. Compare the same configuration and check the checkout total, delivery terms and applicable offers rather than relying on a comparison-page snapshot.
- Check the box contents and charger. Samsung states that its 45 W wall charger is sold separately; realme says included accessories may vary by market.
- Use correctly fitted accessories. Check the model-specific compatibility of any case or screen protector before purchase.
