The Samsung Galaxy F56 5G launched in India at a lower price than the Galaxy A36 5G in matching 8GB configurations, but its quoted introductory prices included a bank discount. Both phones share a 6.7-inch AMOLED-class display, 5,000mAh battery, 45W charging support and Samsung’s stated six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security-update commitments. Their main documented differences are the processor, camera specifications and durability information.

These specifications come from Samsung’s A36 India announcement, F56 India announcement and F56 specification page. The update periods are Samsung’s commitments, not confirmation of future delivery. Samsung’s cited F56 announcement does not state an IP rating; that omission alone does not establish whether the phone has or lacks one.

How the screens, processors and cameras differ

Display: similar size, no proven quality winner

Both phones have a 6.7-inch AMOLED-class panel. Samsung lists up to 1,200 nits for the A36 and 1,200 nits HBM for the F56; the F56 specifications also state a 120Hz refresh rate. Those manufacturer figures do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use, and the available specifications are not a matched brightness or display-quality test.

Processor: Snapdragon versus Exynos

The A36 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the F56 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1480. The chipset names show that these are different platforms, but no comparable A36-versus-F56 benchmark or controlled performance result is established here. Do not treat either model as the faster choice based on the processor name alone.

Cameras: compare claims cautiously

Samsung lists a 50MP main camera for the A36. For the F56, it specifies a 50MP, 8MP and 2MP rear-camera setup with OIS, plus a 12MP HDR selfie camera; Samsung also claims 4K 30fps 10-bit HDR video. The A36 announcement specifies 10-bit HDR front recording. Megapixel counts and vendor feature claims do not show which phone takes better photos or video in real conditions; that requires comparable camera samples.

Battery, charging and durability

Samsung specifies a 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging support for both phones. The A36 listing calls its charging feature Super Fast Charge 2.0, while the F56 announcement describes super-fast charging. These shared capacity and wattage figures do not establish equal battery life or charging time; no matched battery-life test is available here.

Samsung explicitly lists IP67 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the A36. For the F56, Samsung says Victus+ protects both the front and back, but the cited launch announcement does not provide an IP rating. If a documented IP rating matters to your buying decision, the available source information is clearer for the A36.

Software support

Samsung says both phones will receive six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. These are manufacturer-stated support commitments for the models, rather than independently verified records of updates already delivered.

India launch prices and the historical difference

The figures below are launch-era prices from separate Samsung India announcements, not current checkout quotes. Samsung announced the A36 on March 3, 2025, and the F56 on May 8, 2025. Samsung’s F56 introductory prices included an INR 2,000 instant bank discount.

Memory and storage Galaxy A36 5G launch price Galaxy F56 5G introductory price Difference at those launch prices
8GB / 128GB INR 32,999 INR 25,999, including INR 2,000 instant bank discount F56 was INR 7,000 lower
8GB / 256GB INR 35,999 INR 28,999, including INR 2,000 instant bank discount F56 was INR 7,000 lower
12GB / 256GB INR 38,999

The price difference is a comparison of Samsung’s announced figures for different launch dates, and the F56 figure depends on the stated bank discount. The A36 launch announcement also listed launch storage-upgrade offers. These historical prices cannot tell you which phone is cheaper today: a current comparison needs the same storage configuration, seller, bank offer and effective checkout price. Samsung’s A36 purchase page surfaced a displayed price from INR 36,999 and an MRP of INR 46,999, but a matched current F56 checkout price is not established. Check the A36 purchase page and verify both models’ live terms before buying.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the Galaxy F56 if its current price is lower

The launch comparison favors the F56 on price in the matching 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations, even though its quoted introductory price included a bank discount. It also offers the listed 120Hz display specification, OIS on its rear camera system and Victus+ glass on both sides. Confirm the current price and offers for your seller and region rather than relying on launch figures.

Choose the Galaxy A36 if documented IP67 matters

The A36 is the clearer choice if you want Samsung’s cited IP67 dust-and-water-resistance specification. Samsung also lists Gorilla Glass Victus+ and the same broad battery, charging and software-support figures as the F56. The cited F56 launch material does not supply an IP rating, so this comparison cannot establish equivalent protection.

Do not choose on an unverified speed or camera winner

There is no matched performance benchmark or camera test here to substantiate a winner between Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and Exynos 1480, or between their camera systems. If those are your deciding factors, look for direct comparisons using the same software conditions and comparable photo and video samples.
