What is different between the Galaxy A36 and A27?
Charging and rated protection
On the published specifications cited here, the A36 supports 45 W charging while the A27 US table lists 25 W. Samsung rates the A36 IP67 and the A27 IP64. These are specification differences, not guarantees against damage: neither an IP rating nor a charging-wattage figure establishes how a phone will perform in every real-world situation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsRear-camera modules
The A36 lists an 8 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro camera; the A27 lists a 5 MP ultrawide and 2 MP macro, alongside optical image stabilization (OIS) on its 50 MP main camera. Those figures describe the camera hardware, not photo quality. No comparable camera testing is established here, so megapixels alone cannot determine which phone takes better pictures.

Processor and expandable storage
Samsung names the A27’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in its US announcement. The UK A36 specification page reviewed gives core count and clock speeds but not a chipset model, so the available information does not support a direct chipset-versus-chipset performance conclusion. Samsung’s US A27 announcement lists microSD support up to 2 TB; confirm that feature on the particular regional A27 SKU you are considering.
Shared display, battery, and support commitment
Both phones have a 6.7-inch display with refresh rates up to 120 Hz, a 5,000 mAh typical-capacity battery, and a 12 MP front camera in the Samsung material reviewed. Samsung UK lists up to 29 hours of video playback for the A36 and up to 23 hours for the A27; those are manufacturer claims, not independent battery-test results. Samsung states up to six generations of OS/One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for both models. For the A27, Samsung frames the period from its initial global launch date; confirm terms and update availability for your local model.

Galaxy A36 vs A27 price difference
There is no universal price difference: country, configuration, seller, and promotion all matter. Samsung’s US announcement says the A27 5G starts at $349.99 in the United States; that is an A27 starting price, not a matched comparison with the A36.

For a fair comparison, match the country, seller, storage and RAM configuration, and whether each price is promotional or regular. Do not compare the US A27 starting price with an A36 price from another market.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the A36 if its local price works for you and you value the higher listed charging wattage, IP67 rating, or higher-resolution ultrawide and macro modules in the specifications reviewed.
- Consider the A27 if its exact regional configuration offers the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and microSD expansion you want, and its like-for-like local price makes sense.
- Compare listings before deciding if camera image quality or performance is your main concern. The listed hardware alone does not establish a tested winner on either point.
Samsung’s stated long-term software-support commitment applies to both, so it does not by itself distinguish the models. Check the support terms and rollout status for the version sold in your country.
