The Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G has stronger published hardware specifications for its display, battery, charging and optical zoom. The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G has a longer stated software-support commitment and a published U.S. starting price of $349.99. Motorola’s cited announcement does not give a comparable local price, so there is no verified price difference to calculate without choosing a country and matching configurations.
This is a comparison of manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent testing. Actual performance, battery life and camera quality cannot be determined from these figures alone.

Which phone has the better display?
On stated specifications, the Edge 70 Pro has the sharper, faster-refreshing display: Motorola lists a 2772 × 1272 resolution and up to 144Hz on its 6.8-inch panel, compared with the A27’s 6.7-inch FHD+ panel and up to 120Hz. Motorola also advertises peak brightness up to 5,200 nits, but that figure should not be treated as a measured everyday or sustained brightness level.

Both manufacturers’ refresh-rate figures are maximums. They do not establish that either phone runs at its maximum rate in every app or condition.
Which has the better camera and battery?
Camera system
The Edge 70 Pro has the more versatile listed camera hardware, particularly because it includes a 3.5x optical periscope telephoto camera with OIS. Motorola also advertises 50x AI-powered Super Zoom Pro; that is a manufacturer-described feature and is not equivalent to 50x optical zoom. The A27’s listed rear cameras cover main, ultrawide and macro photography but do not include a telephoto lens.

Battery and charging
The Edge 70 Pro has the larger stated typical battery capacity and higher listed wired charging rate. Motorola says its 90W claim requires a Motorola 90W TurboPower charger or higher, sold separately; its 15W wireless charging likewise requires a separately sold Motorola TurboPower wireless charger. Samsung lists 25W wired charging for the A27. These specifications do not establish which phone lasts longer in real use.

Which phone has better software support?
Samsung’s published commitment is longer in the cited official sources: up to six generations of Android/One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from global launch, versus up to three years of OS upgrades and security patches in Motorola’s UK support specifications. Confirm the policy for the exact country and variant before buying, since the Motorola figure is regional and Samsung configurations and availability also vary by market.
What is the price difference?
A numeric price difference is not established by the cited announcements. Samsung’s June 25, 2026 U.S. announcement lists the A27 at a starting price of $349.99, while Motorola’s announcement directs buyers to local PR teams for Edge 70 Pro price and availability. Comparing that U.S. launch price with an unspecified Motorola price, a different country’s price or a different storage configuration would not be a like-for-like comparison.

For a useful local comparison, check both prices on the same date and in the same country, using equivalent storage configurations and the same tax basis. Record promotional prices separately from list prices. Samsung’s Philippines launch offer ended September 15, 2026, so it is not a current promotion.

- Choose the Motorola on paper if you prioritize a higher stated display resolution and refresh rate, optical telephoto zoom, larger typical battery capacity, faster rated charging or the higher stated ingress-protection ratings.
- Consider the Samsung if its longer stated software-support commitment matters most, or if its confirmed local price and configuration make it the better value for you.
- Check the exact regional model before deciding: RAM, storage, colors, network bands, availability and support terms can differ between markets. Motorola itself cautions that specifications may vary by market.
Neither phone can be called the real-world performance, battery-life or camera winner from specifications alone; the cited sources contain no independent head-to-head benchmark, endurance comparison or camera test.

Durability ratings and their limits
The A27’s IP64 rating is not a promise of waterproofing. Samsung describes a freshwater spray-test basis, advises against beach or pool use, and warns that resistance can diminish through normal wear. Motorola’s stated IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H credentials are also ratings and standards, not a guarantee against damage. Check the warranty terms that apply in your market rather than treating a rating as coverage for accidental damage.
