An India price snapshot showed the A17 ₹3,000 higher, but it does not confirm matching configurations or current offers.

How the displays differ
realme C83 5G: smoother refresh rate
The C83 has a larger listed 6.8-inch LCD and supports refresh rates up to 144Hz. That higher ceiling is the more relevant spec if you value smoother-feeling scrolling and motion, though it does not by itself establish how every app or game will run.
Galaxy A17 5G: more pixels and AMOLED
Samsung lists a 6.7-inch-class Super AMOLED panel at 1080 × 2340, compared with the C83’s 1570 × 720 HD+ LCD. The A17 therefore has substantially higher listed resolution and AMOLED technology, while its refresh-rate ceiling is 90Hz. Pick based on whether screen detail and panel type or refresh-rate headroom matters more to you.

These manufacturer ratings describe capacity and charging support, not measured battery endurance or a guaranteed charging time; no comparable test results are established here.
Camera hardware: A17 has more listed components
The A17’s listed rear setup is 50MP + 5MP + 2MP, with OIS noted and an f/1.8 main camera. The C83 lists a single 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, Samsung lists 13MP at f/2.0 and realme lists 5MP at f/2.2.

On paper, the A17 offers more rear-camera hardware and optical image stabilization. Megapixel counts and component lists do not demonstrate which phone takes better photos; that requires comparable image testing under the same conditions.
Software and update commitment
The C83 specification page identifies realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16. Samsung states that the A17 receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, counted from its first global launch date. The cited realme page does not state a comparable support-period promise, so the Samsung commitment is the clearer published duration in these sources.

A Smartprix search-result snapshot surfaced ₹16,499 for the C83 5G and ₹19,499 for the Galaxy A17 5G, a ₹3,000 difference with the Samsung higher. This is indicative only: the snapshot does not establish matching RAM and storage configurations, a specific seller, or a live offer. Check current listings in India and compare the same configuration before treating the gap as a buying decision. The realme India store listing is another place to check C83 availability; confirm the configuration and price shown at purchase.

- You place greater value on its stated 7000mAh typical battery capacity.
- You prefer a display with a refresh-rate ceiling of 144Hz.
- You are comfortable with an HD+ LCD and the camera specifications realme lists.
Consider the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G if
- You want the higher-resolution FHD+ Super AMOLED display.
- You value the listed 50MP rear camera with OIS and the additional rear-camera modules.
- You want a published OS-upgrade and security-update duration.
These are choices based on manufacturer specifications, not hands-on test results. The available material does not establish a performance winner: realme names the C83’s Dimensity 6300, while Samsung’s cited page gives CPU speeds but not a chipset name.
